Either USB or MIDI will be fine (or a USB midi-interface). Your computer is three times faster than mine, and I use a Midiman USB Midisport 2x2 with less than 10ms of latency with FLStudio. I would suggest MIDI because you can always expand later if you get more MIDI gear, like a hardware sound...

1/8" doesn't necessarily mean mono- look at the headphone jack on your Walkman- it's an 1/8", and your headphones still work in stereo. What kind of soundcard have you got?

You can take away the vocal, but not without destroying the music. But just for kicks, invert both the left and right channels, which will (essentially) eliminate anything panned right up the middle, which vocals often are.

There's an HTML file in the CEP folder- You can open it in Word (or you might need to copy and paste, but I doubt it) and print from there- BUT, the printed manual for 2.0 is 308 pages- so you might want to rethink it. You might contact Adobe, and see if they'll sell you one for 20 bucks or so...

Absolutely.. You'll never find all your requests for three hundo. Look into the older AKAI line- s1000, s3000, or the earlier Roland samplers. Buy one of the computer sequencers that Spin suggested, and you're half the way there.

Get to know the Piano Roll: this is the technique used to program MIDI in all other major sequencers (Cubase, Logic, etc). Whether you're doing electronic music or trying to reproduce acoustic drums makes no difference- the Piano Roll is the way to go. Check out the help file for instructions...
