So based on my situation, having a PC, what would you both suggest I purchase as new software and equipment to plug my mic/guitar into? I honestly have been searching for weeks, and can't find a single software/gear that doesn't have a ton of people saying it's no good. I have a $100 (may soon...
I'm in need of some new software, and possibly hardware. So far I have no idea what to purchase. I was using PTSE which turned out to be a horrible mess due to on-going issues that are popular with the product. In my new search, I found this PTLE software with mbox 3 that I was thinking of...
Down the road, I'd like to save up for a nice condenser mic. With my budget right now, I can only afford to purchase the sm57. But I'll end up using it for a long time with multiple things, so it's nice to have one anyway. If I were to purchase this bundle from best buy, would my sm57 xlr cable...
I just purchased the sm57 mic, as I found that it records many things such as vocals, guitar, ect, pretty well. I had been stuck with a horrible bundle from Avid including fast track, an m-audio mic, and PTSE. PTSE turned out to be a complete failure, so I'm really skeptical on what to purchase...
Thanks for the feedback, as I have been experiencing similar issues for the past few months with fast track. This otherworldly white noise appears and ruins each track I try to create. I’ve read many reviews on the product, and it seems I am not crazy, as many others have had the same issue...
I'm in need of some new software, and possibly new gear to plug my mic/guitar into. A friend recommended the Avid Mbox, so I did some research, and found this little bundle on best buy...
Thanks for the awesome advice! I purchased the sm57 from guitar center last night, and got $15 off too. I bought a monster cable and the insurance to go with it. :)
I don't know why people feel the need to enter a convo that I was having with someone else, but ok. For starters, this thread isn't insulting to anyone. It is a harmless question that I think was smart to ask, as it has been a few months since the last post clearly compared the two mics. Don't...
Wow, lucky you! I think you were lucky to grow up during an era where music was at its prime... The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood mac... ect. Sounds like you've got something going for ya. Hopefully I'll be fortunate enough to retire elsewhere someday... :)
Thanks! btw, I see that you're all the way from Australia... Before I die, I've always said I wanted to visit; it seems beautiful! Do you enjoy living in the " land down unda' "? haha :)
Does anyone know if you can use M-Audio Fast track, aka Fast Track II on different software other than PTSE (the software it came with?)
I'm also thinking of returning it due to possible problems starting from its source in the past. If anyone agrees that it would be smarter to look into buying...
To be honest, if I have a question, I have a right to ask it without being labeled as "spam". If you are upset with a post such as this, I'd suggest not reading it for your own sanity. Personally, I think the most stupid question is the one unasked.
One more question... Speaking of a more suitable mic for vocals/all around studio performance, what do you think of the blue spark? To cut to the chase, do you think it is worth my time and money to invest in the sm57, or is it smarter to just upgrade to the spark? *I know, a lot of questions...
Awesome; I'm trying to purchase everything from guitar center, and they have a few. Is there any that you would reccomend for a decent price? Thanks man!
Thanks for the advice! Quick question... in buying the sm57, what would I have to purchase to hook it up to my computer? Would I be able to hook it up via usb cable, or does it have to be hooked up to my fast track II with phantom power?
