    How's my Metal mix?

One thing to try is to take the gain down and just do more takes to thicken it up. I've been using the POD/guitar port/DI Plug in for a long time now. I've also used Amplitube which I didn't like as much as the line 6 gear. I would say don't ever put the gain over 60% because you lose clarity...

New Metal/Rock Song with E Drums and DFHS

I went back and re did just about everything minus the vocals. Tightened it up on the drums. Used a different sound for my bass and heavy guitars.

New Metal/Rock Song with E Drums and DFHS

Bass-Balls? Thats a funny name for a pedal. I think the bass sounds neat but it's not really what I'm going for. I'm going to try to get a more smooth style.

New Metal/Rock Song with E Drums and DFHS

Actually, everything is triggers. The cymbals are conversions. They actually works pretty well and they feel great as far as playability. There are definitely timing issues with the drums. I'm going to go back and re do it. I'm also going to re do the bass. I think I captured some kind of...

FS: Waves Platinum Native and Antares AutoTune 5 VST

I'm thinking of selling off my Waves Platinum and AutoTune 5 VST bundles I have on my iLok. The iLok would be included of course. I can't seem to find anything regarding transfers over at Antares site except for regarding iLok transfers which is how I think they handle it. Waves actually...

    Where's the production value?

I don't post to much any more and haven't really put anything up lately but I think for a guy in his house, my produced tunes sound pretty damn big and pro as do a bunch of other's around here. It's all taste. One thing I've been doing lately though is doing multiple guitar parts on top of each...

    paranoia?

Sounds cool. I like the style on this. What did you use for the background chorus sounding vocals around 1:25? One thing I noticed, there really isn't a whole lot of high end with this mix. It sounds alright though. Usually the vocals and cymbals make up a good amount of the high end and air...

    Instrumental, weird panning?

This is a really weird sound. You may want to try to have the rhythm guitar tracked twice. One take hard left and the other take hard right. Try putting the lead in the middle or use a stereo delay and do some kind of panning with it to make it sound big.

Best Mix i think ive ever done. Metal, check it out and comment please.

I think the kick is the loudest thing there. The guitars really need to stand out some more. There is a lot of low end there with the guitars and they are a bit fuzzy but they seem to sound pretty good. The line 6 stuff really needs a good EQ after recording. I like the drum sound but I think...

    Metal track...new project

Sound good. The parts where the guitar is doing the 16th or 32nd notes or what ever they are sounds almost dizzying. It's multiple takes panned correct? I like the guitar tone. Is that the Cobra? I'm still debating whether I want to go back to regular amps or just stick with my Line 6 gear. I...

Death Before Dishonor....for the last time....I promise

Seems to sound appropriate for the genre. I'm not a country fan so it's really hard for me to critique it. The distorted guitars sound like they are run direct through a metal zone pedal or something like that. You may want to try an amp sim to give them a more live feel.

    'eZduZZit' - brand new instrumental

Sound real good to me. Some of the parts remind me of Dream Theater style playing. I think maybe the guitars could come down a tad to let the drums and bass be a bit more pronounced. What did you use for drums on this?

New Hard Rock with my TD-20 Kit

New Song on Soundclick I recorded this tune after getting all my stuff set up. I have a full TD-20 kit with 3 extra CY-12RCs. I used midi and then triggered Drumkit From Hell Superior. Sometime when I expand I may get an 8 Channel ADAT expansion for my EMU 1616M and try actually using the TD-20...

    WTB: Toontrack DFH Superior

Is anybody looking at selling theirs or does anybody know where I can buy it? It really sucks that they discontinued it, even with the new 2.0 coming out sometime. I sold mine awhile back because I was using my own drums but am getting some edrums and would like to use the sound of DFHS. Anyway...
