    The V67 is a better mic from what I've heard. I don't think a Rode NT1 or a AKG C1000 are probably any better than the V67 or the V57 for that matter. Both the C1000 and NT1 suffer from a hyped high end that can make them very shrill and brittle.

    They are one of the nicer mics in the budget range. Far less hyped and scooped sounding than the Rode mics, much better than the AKG 3000. They have a lot of proximity effect to them that is noticible for quite a distance. The tube version (57?) is supposed to be pretty nice too.
