I am going to treat my room that I am going to build. I have a lot to learn about recording, but, after I returned my bass in my truck to 0, instead of 6 (max) my mix did sound good. I also checked on other forms and had a good mix. I do use headphones here and there. I have played live for 30...
I am going to be building a home studio in my pole barn. I will have a 24 x 10 space to work with. Wish it was bigger but that's the way it works out. What size should the control room be. The rest of the space will be the studio. I am just using it to record my bass, guitars, am also going to...
Im gonna work on it till I get it. Lots of info to move forward on it. Lets put in this way, you don't have to take the low eq out of my voice, there are none. lol
Thanks for the help bongoboy and Brian. I wasn't pissed, I really didn't know how to do this. Had to ask my teenage daughter how to do it. This is a new band, with an 80's sound, which is the kind of music I grew up to, and love. I can sing harmonies to myself, but I wish my bandmates could sing...

---------- Update ----------
I did it. Learn something everyday. I really have not done this before.
Im not lazy. I don't know how to do that. Calm down. I know its pretty tough to type a few letters to look for a song. Don't just think someone is lazy, because they have you look up a site yourself. I would do something like that without thinking about it. Not a big deal.
Thanks for all your input. I cant wait to get this studio built so I can treat it. I have read a lot about doing it. My garage just sucks. Washer/dryer. Furnace, which I don't do anything while it is running. Hell, I even turn the heat down so I can keep it from coming on while doing some...
I love the way certain background vocals sound, and would like to record the way they do it, but am having problems figuring how they do it. The best way I can explain is go to youtube, look for crazy lixx, girls of the 80's. I love the sound when they sing girls of the 80's during the chorus. I...
I was mixing the other day, I had a sweet sound coming out of my KRK Rokit 5's. I used a mastering preset, just playing with the presets. I went and played it in my truck. There was to much bass guitar. Is this a sign of my garage needing room treatment? I am building a studio starting this...
Yes, Im am going to do it in one pour now. I just didn't know if there was anything during constructing it that I should do that would make the room any better. Instead of, I have it done, wish I would of done this. Pretty general.
I am going to build a small studio (25x15) in my pole barn. I am going to concrete small sections at a time because of money. Maybe frame 6x6 at a time. Pour, do another section. Repeat. Any tips as I go. Should I put plastic down, before the pour, so the floor does not sweat. I have my DAW...
Yes, I eq'ed some of the freq's plus a little compression. I'm a lot happier with my sound. Still might tweek a little more today. I like the sound of my bass, some notes in the song just were a little to much.
This was my first mix. Have made some changes people have mentioned. Does sound better. Some of the things I did recording this song, I will not do again. Like taking one guitar track, copying it, and panning them out. Now I record two performances, each with a different amp, or pickup change...
Yeah, think I will just hold off. Wait till we are done, copyright , then put some mixes on here. I put a mix of one of our songs on here, and have learned a lot from peoples input from it. I will feel better about doing it that way.
I am the bass player, but out guitarist is a Dokken fan, along with Ratt, VH, etc. I do have 2 guitar tracks, panned left and right. My bass is also in the middle. I have taken the highs out of guitar, and mix overall. Also fixed the vocals clipping. Its sounds a lot better. Have taken what I...
Look, I want to make one thing clear, Im not saying our songs are the best thing since sliced bread. You all might think they are the worst thing you've heard. But they our songs, the guitar player and I,( bass player), have had some of these songs since high school, around 1986. Its takes so...
Not release the cd, wait till the songs are all done, mixed the way I think. Come on, you really think I would release it, then redo it. I never said "release". Its cheaper to copyright a whole cd than song at a time. I hear all your comments, and take them all in. Your song is protected once...
The only song I have put out "Be Mine Tonight", I have already copyrighted it. Just kind of sucks because I would like to get input on my mixing of songs. Guess I will have to wait till our cd is done, copyright it, then see what you all think of the mix. Then make adjustments. I love getting...
OK, Thanks, I will take all the help I can get. Our problem is, we have 4 mics. A 2 channel interface. We make do with the drums best we can. Hard to fine tune drums.
Thanks. I guess I'm pretty close to some of these songs, we had some written for over 25 years. I don't think they are the next TOP 40 song, just protective of them.
