    Dual Zone/Dual Trigger pads

Ok. I've run the following tests on both an Alesis Dual Zone pad and a Roland PD-8 and a CY-8 Dual Trigger pads.... I've tried a 1/4" TRS cable into the module itself. Plugged in a stereo splitter/adapter 1/4" TRS Male split to two 1/4" female mono into the module. All known good cables. I can...

    Dual Zone/Dual Trigger pads

I have some of the Alesis ones and one or two of another one. I tried both. No go. Really? I thought I had to assign a sound to each zone/trigger. DO you know how I would go about doing this? Thanks so much.

    Dual Zone/Dual Trigger pads

Hey guys, I'm using an Alesis DM5 Pro kit (with a few additional pads) and have a question regarding dual zone pads. I know that in theory you can use these to trigger two different sounds (i.e. snare and/or rim shot, ride and/or bell of the cymbal) but using a "Y" cable (TRS 1/4" that splits to...

    Live Mixing Question

Good info. I'll reposition and take into acount the reverb. LOL!!! I love it!!! I know it's not ideal. So I do what I can. Thankfully lately the "band" has been small so it's pretty simple for someone to hear if things are balanced. But I really want things to sound better and I'm about the...

    Live Mixing Question

Thanks. I guess that's really depressing news for me. No one else in the congregation really seems to know much about running sound. I don't really have much of a way to take a break from playing. I'm not discounting your statment . . . I'm just curious why using recorder like that isn't...

    Live Mixing Question

Well. I was thinking about it later on. Here's how I feel/hear/see things.... Yes. I'm using the H1 to review later. I'm in the crappy position of being a player/singer/sometimes leader and having to try to run sound. We actually meet in a movie theater. (The old kind where there's a stage and...

    Live Mixing Question

Hey guys, As I get more involved with my church's praise team I find myself more and more frustrated. I've been using a Zoom H1 to record the music portion of service, just to hear what's working and what's not. I find that the sound is not as "sheen" as I'd like it to be and I'm not really...

    Tiesco Checkmate????

does anyone else know anything on these amps? As an aside . . . if I mis-match ohm ratings will it hurt anything? Thanks guys!

    Tiesco Checkmate????

Thank you so much for your response. I'm not sure he's gonna spend the cash for the specs, but it's a nice link. Thank you.

    Tiesco Checkmate????

Hey guys. I thought I'd see if any of you knew anything about a vintage amp my friend found. I'm familiar with the Tiesco brand (though unaware they made amps untill to day.) He found a Checkmate 25 amp head. It clearly states on front that it's solid state. (I'm guessing from when manufacturers...

    Looking for a MSH1

I have a crappy Radio Shack mic that I can paint all pretty like and put "Neumann" on it .. . . I'll sell it for $250 and call it an art piece about how "cosmetic" music has become. How does that sound?

    Tascam 388 Story...

IT's times like this I hate being stuck in South Dakota (oh, yeah, and being broke!!!) I want on so bad!!!! Just for my own interest . . . what are you looking to get for it? Good luck with the sale man.

    Tascam 488 - help!

I don't think it's the cable since he can hear the other tracks. When you say you can hear it back through monitor . . . do you mean that you can hear it back on the tape cue but not through your main output? If so, check to see that your routing is correct. By that I mean; check to see that...

    Recording drums with 2 mics

Latency is common with any digital recording set up. Most interfaces have a 0-latency hardware direct monitoring capability. Since I don't use computers much I can't give you too much info on minimizing latency, but yes it's common. You should be able to get it down to about 8-10 ms which would...

    Lots Of Gear

What do you think a fair price would be? I can find very little info out there on these. I'm not committing to anything right now, just thinking . . . and asking. Thanks.

    Recording drums with 2 mics

Yes, if you have phase issues you'll hear them durring your set up/sound testing. If you recorded them to two seperate mono tracks (as opposed to a stereo track) it is possible that you accidentilly nudged one of the tracks out of line. This would (possibly) give you phase issues. This video...
