If you have enough experience soldering and diagnosing electronics problems, you can fix a lot of stuff on components that would be more expensive to flat out replace. At one point all I was doing at my job was repairing high-end video cards that were out of warranty. Fun stuff.

Hotswap is hotswap. As long as you make sure nothing is using the device when you unplug it you shouldn't have any problems.

Put simply, yes. You get what you pay for. With the Lexicon, you don't. You get a shoddy interface that requires you to use ASIO4ALL to get usable results - and even then, it's pretty much a shot in the dark if it's actually going to work or not.

Stay the HELL away from any Lexicon interfaces. Fair warning.

Just some thoughts, the drums seem a little brittle and distant. Especially the snare, it almost sounds like an electronic snare. I like the general sound of the vocals, but they have a feel to them that's... I don't know how to put it... under water? Somewhere there are some mids or high mids...
