Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

Wow, that's perfect! I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted, but now I am: USA made. 80/100 watt capability (it appears the Solo Series would do, just wire the 2 12's in parallel.) Scorpion or Sheffield speaker. Transtube technology, so named or not. So, anything made form '89 to '03 or '04...

Does Steve Vai work with a choreographer...?

Not gonna comment on his playing (he plays better than me, and some love his stuff,) except to say he should stick to playing guitar. That was awful!

    HD24 hard drive accident

AIRK, the HD24 records in a sorta "lineal" way, with only ONE file. If you can playback the song(s,) I think you will be okay.

Well, shit! Was just scrolling down to ask if you could ship the Ghost. Oh, well.

Tascam 244 - is it worth to repair?

If it used to belong to George Harrison, sure, it's worth it!:thumbs up: I used to repair cassette decks often- replace capstan rollers, replace belts, even re-attached the heads on a Kenwood auto-reverse unit (tiny screws!) Seemed worth it then, but now, I don't bother.

    the line of "selling out"

I think there is a fuzzy, but real line between "selling" and "selling out." Here's an example to illustrate how I feel: Jimmy Buffett made lots of songs before "Margaritaville" hit it big. He sorta got lucky with that song. No sell out- yet. But in time, it seemed like every song he...

Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

Thanks, everybody. Which of the different variations are a)80 watts/100 watts with two speakers, and b) best sounding?

Does Anybody Have Enough Experience With Peavey Bandits To Comment on Reliability?

I love Peavey Bandits for their reasonable tube-like sound and presumed SS reliability, and have recommended them fairly often- but really, I don't have long-term experience with them. I THINK they might be great for Studio101NOLA, as our work-horse rehearsal amp, if they are as reliable as I...

Guitar Shopping Experience With A Noob

Come to Atlanta, Sam, spend a couple of hours in GC or Sam Ash with me, walk out with the guitar that suits you, and buy me a steak dinner.

Hey guitaris,t wanna help a drummer?

Yeah, after the manager forces you to buy them both at full sticker, you can bring them both home and decide which to sell at a huge loss.

    Guitar Beaters

No surprise there are, as of yet, zero votes for Martin, Taylor and Gretsch owners. These are works of art, not just sonically but also visually, and I don't thank anyone would intentionally abuse any of them.

    Peavey Classic 30

The things said above are spot on, but let me add a little. C-30's are, indeed, good all-rounders, good for blues, country and rock, jazz probably, but not quite nasty enough for metal and such- but using a pedal you can get there or at least very close. 2 input channels, switchable at control...

Accoustic Simulator (Boss AC-2) For Use With An ACCOUSTIC?

I am not impressed with piezo pickups. More quack than an entire flock of ducks all playing Strats, INO. Oh, sure, you can tame a piezo (and probably a duck,) with the application of $500 worth of gear in the form of a purpose-built upper-end pre-amp/processor, but I don't have $500 to spend...

    acoustic guitars - name brand

True, brand does not, in and of it's self, make for a good guitar. See my post "Guitar Shopping Experience With A Noob" for my thoughts/experience on the matter.

Guitar Shopping Experience With A Noob

I went to GC with a friend who wanted advise on what guitar she might buy. Perhaps someone here might benefit from my experience. We spent a goodly amount of time there (enough to have to politely ward off employees no less than four times) and the one she liked the most was a $329 parlor...

How much money do you have invested in your studio?

Can't tell you. Studio101NOLA is actually my son's business, legally, although I can say it is getting up there, and the studio has long-since moved into the pro arena.
