How to open files recorded with previous versions of cubase [question]

so, what would be the best way to share an ongoing composition with someone. I'm trying to do a work with a friend of mine and we're doing the composition by bits. For instance, he just handed me the intro and first verse, i planned on adding a couple of stuff to it and returning to him so he...

How to open files recorded with previous versions of cubase [question]

to be honest I though the LE was better than the SX... I guess not then... makes sense... I think I do have an older version of cubase that I can instal on my pc. I'm just going to wait a bit longer and find out if Reaper can open cubase files somehow. I preffer to work with Reaper, rather than...

How to open files recorded with previous versions of cubase [question]

The title seems self explanatory. A friend of mine just sent me a cubase project recorded with an older version, I think it was cubase SX. if I open it with my cubase le5 it shows an error message saying that version can't open files from v 5.1.0. Can anyone help me with this?

    stupid question - chord samples

I meant it more as in. A little site or something where I would type "jazz piano" and he would get me recorded files with progressions of jazz in piano. Then I could use those progressions and record other things with it.

    stupid question - chord samples

hey there, silly question: I have a terrible taste for making chord progressions. So when I compose a music, no matter how "delicious" the "topping of the cake" might be, if the dough is of poor quality, so will be the cake. My question being, anyone know any good sites where I can get some...

I'm not sure If I'm posting in the right place... but I need some advice.

thanks, I appreciate the tips. I'm a near future I'm going to be rather busy so for the time being I won't be buying or making any new experiments. I am, though, going to try and make some simple slow recording (nothing that burns too much time) and keeping things at a minimum and...

I'm not sure If I'm posting in the right place... but I need some advice.

wow its amazing, Reaper is really good, and it didn't take such a learning curve, it grabs the principles, short cuts and so on from both Vegas and Cubase. I recorded 3 guitar tracks pretty easily using the metronome's help. After that I exported the .wav (I'm gonna download the lame encoder so...

I'm not sure If I'm posting in the right place... but I need some advice.

hey, thanks for the reply. I would actually like to record audio and manage it with Sony Vegas because of it's auto snap, he manages to make cutting and looping a lot easier. Though I miss not having cubase's time stretch. One of the things that annoys me on cubase is how hard it is to loop...

I'm not sure If I'm posting in the right place... but I need some advice.

(not sure this is where this belongs, basically I need recording audio and image tips) Hey everyone, I... probably like everyone else in this forum want to record a videosong. by this I mean a music with a video. The general idea is that I play an instrument and record both sound and image as...

What video editing software do you use?

Wax looks like a cheap roughly made version of Sony Vegas... but it's free so I can't complain. The youtube movie maker... I don't think that has any effects or anything... but looks good if you want to add subtitles or smth... can't find much info on how to use it, besides the one on the program.

What video editing software do you use?

alright such a reply was requested... I was kinda asking for it Anywho, lets get back to the free software part. I really liked Sony Vegas (I used the trial)... but no way I could ever afford to pay the actuall software. You mention basic video editors, problem is those can only do less than...

A desperate man is looking for a mic

Even thought I'd actually dream to working professional either with video or image or audio (or all of them). My knowledge with these sort of though is scarce. John Willett, do you agree with Bobbsy when he says: "An omni is bad advice for an amateur working in a non-acoustically treated...

A desperate man is looking for a mic

for now at least it seems to. Perhaps trying that mic again at home won't be as good... or not the way I want it too... Or maybe ... in time my "sensitivity" will grow and I will become aware of problems that mic holds... well right now I'm just seeing if I can find that mic at a cheaper...

A desperate man is looking for a mic

Correct me if I'm wrong but using an omnidirectional mic would just make it easier for it to capture noises and other stuff that would ruin my recordings. I don't think I have the room for an omni. And it really doesn't make much sense having something that captures sound in all directions when...

    Song 001

This is a music I just made this afternoon. I like it. I will have to edit the video so it shows the other instruments and sync things properly. I think I did a fairly decent job panning the sound and equalizing the stuff. what do you think?
