The room is very open with low ceilings, no echo or predominent reverb though. The mike is usually placed directly in front of the mouth on axis about 6 to 8 inches away with a pop filter. And i dont think its the voice, cuz ive recorded several voices male and female with the same problem...

I use an MXL 9000 tube large condensor mic for vocals, pluged into a presonus firepod recorded into logic 7. My problem is that i get OK vocals, not horible, and with some compression and decent verb sometimes even pretty good, but not GREAT. Any suggestions out there for tracking the vocals...

Im now going to dive into the world of outboard processing and i was wonder how that all works with a firepod, how do you use anolog equipt with a digital interface, and more importantly, if i want to bypass the Pre's in the firepod to use an external pre amp hows that done?

thanks, thats kinda what i was getting when i was playing with it. Now if i also for instance want to bus the drums to a reverb, would i do that on a seperate bus. And waht about other instruments? would sending all the guitars to a bus of comp, or reverb be desireable?

Im not looking for free plugins, i just want a pack of options that funtion with logic. Im looking for better compressors and EQ's. Logic only allows "audio units" so im kinda limited, but if you know of anything let me know.

Got it to an extent, would i want to send more than one track to the same buss? So that all or some of the drums would have the same over all compression? is there a benifit to this? And waht about what i said about reverb, does the same concept apply? I know that a lot of people buss to help...

Ok, but if thats the case, why bus them, if they are going to be seperate anyway? Why not just applie the compression on a track by track basis?

I finally messed around with the frightning world of busing and i had some interesting, good, and awful resaults. I took the advice of some books and some people and bused the drums all to the same reverb to give them an over all more live effect, i no this is a big "no duh" to experiened...
