    Facts on Pop filters

Using the cheap/expensive pop filters or panty hose doesn't make a difference exept in price (and maybe smell). I use a bit more expensive ones with goosenecks, just because they're easy to possition, not soundwise... ...in the end all they do is keep spit and airblasts (pops) out of the mic...

What do we think about Samson C02 ?

If you have to, buy a second hand pair and start saving up for something better. Good condensers don't come (that) cheap. I did hear they're pretty good for their price range. But I suppose crack hookers look pretty good for their price range, and that doesn't mean much either. Still, if...

    Tube Microphones...

Tubes are in vogue, so manufacturers make all kinds of tube stuff to dazzle buyers. A good example are those pedals, little preamps etc. that run on a 9 volt battery/power supply. The notion of tubes running properly on 9 volts is fairly rediculous. Always know what you're buying and why.

What Mics Did the Beatles Use in the 60's?

Those are sdc's by AKG. You can screw an extention bit between the capsule and the grip and you and up with this. They might be 451's with the CK5 capsule (CK1 in suspension), or something simular. George is using either an AKG 202 or 242. This is on a TV show, so they might be using stuff...

    Studio Projects B1 vs C1

That's not too bad a budget. Something you could consider is that for that money you can buy a top of the line dynamic mic like a Electro Voice RE20, Shure SM7 (though you need a very good preamp for that), Sennheiser MD 441. If you go used and you could strech your budget a little there's...

    Studio Projects B1 vs C1

If you don't like the Sterling anymore, it might be time for investing in good equipment? Something better then Studio Projects mics, which are, quote "fine" on drums and "pretty good" on guitar, that's not overly enthousiastic, right? What kind of budget do you have? And have you, as...

How does my voice sound on my set up?

Sounds good and you know it? In need of a compliment? :P I really like the way you arranged that first song, with the timpani and all. But I think that two chord song structure (Am / Dm is it?) is a bit easy, try to open it up with, like, a D#m (with open d string, so D#m7M) on every second bar...

+1 Get the SM57, maybe the Sennheiser

    Shure 55SH

Yeah, I make and sell those on Ebay. That's the Small Tuchel plug you find on a lot of German mics from the 60's and 70's. Since you're talking about an old American mic I had another 3 pin plug in mind. If there's indeed a Small Tuchel connector on your mic (which I still doubt), you should...

Drum mic kit for under $200?

Please forget about the CAD set, you'll be throwing that in the garbage next year, $150 worth of garbage is not cheap at all. If you have a AT2020, make it double as an overhead mic, buy a SM57 for snare and if you want to sample the kick, that'll work, buy a used drum trigger (or make one...
