    Keystation Pro 88 velocity curves

Does anyone know how to control the velocity curves on the Keystation Pro? It seems to me that all the preset curves reach full velocity way too easily. It's kind of annoying. Thanks!

Very good point... One thing I want to touch on though is product knowledge.. I know the home studio inside and out, and I know how to set them up, trouble shooting, software, etc... But ask me about an Akai MPC drum machine and I am pretty clueless. BUT.. I do sell many Akai machines, and...

Why shouldn't you have to talk them down? What makes anyone there entitled to a discount anyway? We do price match you know. I hook up my good customers or the person that 'sells' me on getting a discount. But I hold margins. If you can get your set of strings for cheaper somewhere else why...

Here are the three types of minimums I've run into at work: 1. minimum, can be overridden with the store manager's approval 2. hard minimum, can be overridden by store manager only and GM has to call manufacturer and there is a one day lift on the item. Usually this is only done for pro...

Legal or not, try to haggle on a Bose system or an Apple computer sometime.. you'll get the same answer anywhere you go. "Sorry, those prices are non negotiable." Not too long ago Steve Miller bought a bunch of Bose personal amplification systems. He paid the same price as every other Joe...

sure they can, Apple, Bose, Monster and Mogami are doing it already. I work for GC and I can't get my employee discount on Bose or Apple no matter how many people I'm buddies with at those companies. Monster and Mogami hook us up, but it's near impossible to hook up custy's with employee...

Haggle now folks, within a few years, most all company's are going to start setting hard minimums on their products much like Bose, Apple, Monster and Mogami do.

Actually, they'd probably prefer that you just keep the one you got. Very few floor models at GC are actually in inventory as store demo units. The exception is a few computers and some of the furman power conditioners. Trust me, there's no blacklisting going on, and in reality the dudes...

And I'll just throw out this tid bit of info for everybody. If a deal is given on the main high dollar item on a sale, 98% of the time you can hold advertised cost on any add ons to the sale. And for the most part, the high dollar items on a sale do not have the highest gross profit...

Nope, He's my partner back in Hi-tek though. I should clarify, I'm technically the "Keyboards" dept. manager... My main focus though is on the pro-audio side dealing with studio gear. Greg is the man w/ live sound though. I definately learn a lot from the dude.

Well, I work for GC as the Pro Audio department manager, and by far, Richard Monroe has given the best advice on getting "the good guy deal." I love to do deals, but I also know how to hold margins. We are a performance based company on every level and my pay check depends on how well I can...

    Monitor Mixes and Headphone Amps

I use four Presonus HP4's for monitor mixes in my studio. They only take one stereo in though, so I have to use seperate headphone amps. I also place them right next the musician so that they have quick access to their levels.

Presonus Firebox is pretty impressive (sample included)

Presonus FireStudio is coming out soon with a MAP of around $999. It's basically a Firepod with an updated look and 8 channels of lightpipe. I'm pretty stoked about it.

    Mbox 2 w/ factory bundle vs. Digi002

Personally, I think you should try to find an original Mbox that has the Focusrite pre's in it. For whatever reason Digi stopped working with Focusrite and no longer put their pre's in their systems. A lot cheaper used on Ebay, and better pres... then for MIDI the MIDIsport Uno at $40 is a...

personally, I like the the full size keys on the micron. You can also do sequencing on it. The Korg is a fun little beast though.
