    Tascam us-144 interface isssues..

Hello I posted this in the Sony section too, I wasn't sure where to post. I'm a newbie to PC recording though I'm getting the hang of it... Prior to getting the Tascam us-144 mkII for xmas I was simply going from a small preamp into the mic input on my laptop and laying down some rough guitar...

Hello... I'm a newbie to PC recording though I'm getting the hang of it... Prior to getting the Tascam us-144 mkII for xmas I was simply going from a small preamp into the mic input on my laptop and laying down some rough guitar tracks using Amplitube. Well, today I installed the drivers and...

    Noob needs advice on interface

Keep in mind I'm probably more of a newbie than you, however just for sng's I'll chime in. I'm using an "entry level" HP laptop, 250g HD 2.20GHz and 2g of Ram with Sony Acid Pro 7. I use my Boss BR 600 8 track recorder as an interface and go right into the mic input on the laptop and after...

    SampleTank and Acid Pro Distortion

Hi everyone, I used to post on the analog forms mostly, been a long time and now I'm gone all digital like and I'm like a lost puppy, really. Ok, so I'm using Acid Pro 7 and so far... I've been able to lay down some test tracks using Amplitude. I've been able to lay down (sort of) some midi...

    Best Reverb for the money?

Absolutely! The V-Verb is BY FAR the best cheap reverb unit ever made, bar none. None of the "brand" name low end models compare. It compares to my Sony V77 in quality verbs. Though I do prefer my V77 most often, it's a VERY close call. Never mind $200, forget that. Some places still have them...

The formula for a "hit song"

I can only speak for myself. I never said, nor implied that talent alone will get you anywhere. I gave an example of how I took to the drums like a fish to water. Do you believe everyone is born with a natural sense of rhythm? Go to youtube and look up talented little kids and tell me it's all...

The formula for a "hit song"

No no no no no! Sorry Chris, you've got it all wrong. Mastery has nothing to do with "it", nor does putting in thousands of hours. BB King is no master on the guitar, there are probably dozens of guitar players out here who can put him to shame. There are countless 16 year olds on youtube that...

The formula for a "hit song"

Those that don't "know"? Let me guess, you know? lol. You can asked "whether they or you would be more advanced if you studied some theory" if you want, but it has no bearing on reality. Eddie Van Halen and Eric Clapton never took guitar lessons, would they be "better" if they did? Would Buddy...

    Boss Micro BR, New

If anyone is interested I have a brand new factory sealed Boss Micro br for sale. I purchased it from my local music store who went out of business a few months back for $179, which was like $40 off regular retail. I never used it because I ended up finding a little Zoom PX04 off ebay for a buy...

    Tascam DP-004

In today's world I don't think a product like the DP-004 can compete when for the same money there are much better options. I mean the DP-004 doesn't even have basic EQ, that is unforgivable. The Boss Micro is a MUCH better deal. You get tons of, if not groundbreaking, usable effects, EQ, a...

The formula for a "hit song"

Yeah, all the great songwriters of and before our time took music theory and read music theory books  Paul McCartney can't even read music, neither can James Taylor. I'm quite sure Willie Nelson never took a music theory class or read a book. On reading music Willie said: "I don't...

    MTS-1000 Midiizer

MTS-1000 Midiizer in great condition. The only "issue" and it's a small one, is the jog wheel rubs the side a little bit if you press too hard, not a big deal and doesn't affect the performance at all. I had a buyer, but it's been 27 days and no payment so it's back on the market! I have no use...

    Digital recorder for Dummies?

Hey all, Long story short, I've always been an analog guy. Fact is I'm a songwriter and only put on my producer and engineer hats because I have to, that's not to say I don't like recording, I love it, but I'm so wrapped up in songwriting I don't have the time or desire to learn the technical...

General advice for people wishing to set up home project studio?

I agree. You said carpet on the walls does almost nothing. That's not true, Carpet is a great absorber of high and high-mid frequencies and by far the cheapest way to go for a DIY'er.
