Hey guys, last night i had a surge and my stupid surge protector didnt work...anyways, cool edit was running while when it happened...when i restarted my computer it gave me the option to continue the mix i was working on, i continued...but after that it kept giving me the message an error has...

is there any option i can choose so i can hear my voice in my headphones while im recording? thanks.

im going through line in on my sound card from my dbx preamp and when i try and record in stereo only the bottom bar is recording while the top bar is not, just a straight line through.... can anyone explain this.. thanks.

thanks a lot guys. by the way, i dont think my vocals are 32 bit...can my soundcard handle that, its just a regular basic soundcard for now till i upgrade it. how would i change it to 32bit if i could. thanks.

im i supposed to compress my vocal track before i edit or add any effects? if so, what should i compress it to mp3? wav? thanks. if i shouldnt compress it in those formats how do i go about compressing? thanks

i see some pop filters by shure for $60cdn, others for $40cdn, others for 20 and so on, whats the diffence between these pop filters? is there actually a big diffence in the more expensive ones? thanks.

what happens if i do a noise or hiss reduction on the actual vocal, cause theres still a faint hiss on the vocal.. thank u

im hearing the hiss on my recorded vocals using cool edit... like i said, its not anything massive u know..its just faintly 'there'..im just wondering if thst normal? thanks a lot, appreciate it

there isnt a massive amount of hiss.. its faint but still audible, im just wondering if this is normal... my pre is the dbx mini-pre... the hiss isnt anything massive if you know what i mean.. its just there in the background... thanks
