I'm using Cubase 6 and have no problem exporting MP3's. I also had no problem using C4 before I did the upgrade. Maybe an issue with C5?

I would think that they came with some type of manual that would explain the basics such as what the knobs, buttons and switches do, and what maker and model are.

If you're worried about someone getting in a metal clad door in a metal frame lagged to a heavy wall. A crowbar can overcome just about anything if you give it room to work. A solid wood door is the next best. The more work it takes to get through it the better.

Try downloading the audio to wherever is convenient then import into Cubase. The track input has nothing to do with it, and should probably be set to "no bus" in the created track so it won't be inadvertently recorded over. The input bus is for recording. You are not recording, you're importing...

The pink sill seal under the walls isn't a bad idea. I did that in my room, but also put a double layer over the studs and floor joists before putting up the sheetrock. Like you, I figured it couldn't hurt, and it was cheap.
