    Mixing suggestions?

Interesting, do you just bypass the amps and just use line6's comp or what?

    Mixing suggestions?

That is a good suggestion, I have noticed that if you roll back the distortion to much, it sounds overly rolled off, if you put the distortion any higher then it sounds harsh, like you said. I think that a comp would definitely help. I will have to give that a shot and see what I can come up...

    Mixing suggestions?

Yeah, I am thinking that it is hard to make something fake sound real. I have fake drums, fake guitar amps, and fake bass amps, but that is what I am limited to in my home studio, once I wanna record a serious demo that isn't just for fun for my band, I plan on mic'ing my 5150 cab, and mic'ing...

midi track importing from guitar pro or power tab

Yeah, that is how I did it. I used guitar pro, export as midi track. Then import midi into sonar. Worked like a charm, I do wonder how you can export only the drum tracks though. It said to mute the other channels, but it still includes them when I export the midi.

    Mixing suggestions?

Yeah, I know the whole eq, I was just wanting some tips on my tone settings. I do quad track, maybe I should just double track and have a lead in the center? I noticed that things do tend to get pretty muddy when quad tracking. The only thing is there are alot of songs that we play that have...

midi track importing from guitar pro or power tab

I have a buddy that told me that you can import midi drum tracks from power tab or guitar pro into your daw to be triggered by your ez drummer or whatever. Does anyone know how to do this, I would love to figure this out if anyone knows how to do this, that would be awesome.

    Mixing suggestions?

I am thinking that maybe I am just to much of a guitarist and I am equing my amp sim poorly? I normally run the gain at about 10 o'clock, bass at 1 o'clock, mids at 3 o'clock, and treble at about 1 o'clock, presence at about 1 o'clock as well. I don't know, maybe I shouldn't be doing something...

    Mixing suggestions?

I am using the poulin le456, which I think sounds great with impulse cabs. I should have been more specific, I was asking what you guys suggest for eqing metal guitars, my solo riffs are distorted also. I meant, that my guitars are a low distorted tone, alot of the progressive death metal that...

    Mixing suggestions?

I am using alot of vst amp sims, and impulses. I am getting pretty decent results, they sound really good, about as close to a mic'd cab as I can get without my half stack being here. When I put it into a mix though, they have some overly harsh highs, but if I roll back the highs in the amp...

Yeah, I will say that you guys here on the forum have taught me more here than anything else I have read. I have been playing with recordings for about four years now, only the last year have I been real serious about it. I joined the forum about 4-5 months ago, and I learned more in that time...

I will also add, that not once has someone actually said to pluck the shit out of your strings. That could very well be a good tip for me that I never considered. I guess what it is, is that it is harder for me to really "get into it" when I am sitting at a computer with my guitar in my hands...
