Thanks for the reply. Yes, the PCI and USB versions are different animals, if I understand it correctly. I haven't read one success story on the web yet for 0404 USB and W7. :(

Doh, I thought OP was the moderator for some reason. I would notice if something played and it wasn't in the original key, it would just stand out like dog's balls. Anyway, lowering the key just moves the problem more to the other end and makes the lower parts harder. Must be original pitch.

Thanks for your input. It's the USB version. .. and I probably wouldn't buy hardware anyway. I'm very happy with the idea of managing it with the compressors and maybe even the twin mic thing when I've sorted out the distance-> 2 mic thing.

So, distance from mouth to mic ? Previously I've been keeping about 450mm (about 18 inches). Is this personal preference or is there some method here?
