Once the drums come in the lack of solid bass becomes more evident. I can hear bits of it but there's nothing giving it definition. I reckon, personal taste as usual, that a narrow peak of about 4 dB at 3kish would give it more. I enjoyed the song!

Keith, I have a bunch of Mellotron samples - 7 sec mono wav files ripped from actual 'Tron tapes in a variety of types & across the "tron keyboard. At present I just cut & paste them into a project but what would be a cheap & effective way to trigger them for recording?

Yup, post a solo'd and an in the mix sample if possible then the good ears around here will help you. I'm not one so I'll just listen, read & learn.
