I haven't had any luck with DI. I think I'd need a snake to reach all the way to the closet. And I'd need a longer guitar cable. Any recommendations?

for the MOST part i just want it to be like an isolation room for tracking guitars, so i can play at my computer and listen through the monitors. it's in an upstairs bedroom in a house, i can build stuff, just can't be there permanently

I would like to build a semi decent booth in my room, not quite sure where yet or how big to build it, which is where you guys come in. Also, would this be good for mic'ing a guitar cab? I'm guessing yes.
