    music morals and business....confused producer

First, be aware that business partnerships with friends could ruin friendship. Second, I am not sure where you get the idea that low morals and making money in the music industry go hand in hand. It is not like one just have to record obscene songs as a sure-fire way making money like selling...

need to know about drum machines

Before you spend your money, depending on the type of recording you are doing, you may want to look around your and see if you have any keyboard (synths i.e. Roland D20, D50, even Yamaha PSR's) lying around. The Roland's sounds, in particular, are realistic and if you are not happy with it, you...

I need your help to build the perfect home studio

Ken, your question is intimidating to most people, and I am sure you understand that. First, because it appears that you are bragging. Second, the answer to your question opens up a can of worms that a forum like this will not be able to handle, as opposed to "lack of imagination" as...

    Mixer question?

You don't need to go overboard with your mixer. The company that makes your ADAT makes excellent mixers. Studio 24 will fill your bill. It has direct outs, sweepable mids, flexible sends/inserts, quiet and transparent electronics. For the price, you can't beat it.

    Fostex D-108

There are different ways of doing it, but make sure you read your mixer's manual (I assume you do have a mixer, don't you?) but that is the analog way, to do it digital, use cut & paste feature. Hope that helps.

Please help. I would like to use the RODE NT1 microphone plugged into an Alesis studio 32 with 48 volt of phantom power. Now, when I record, I would like to use a couple of SM 57 to mike the drums. All the microphones use the XLR connections, however, to use the RODE NT1, I have to activate...
