What about Obituary... any song they have ever done. Although specifically I could say Threatening Skies..a triumphant effort. I believe the lyrics are:
bleargh blargh warrgh weergggh arrgghh
threatening skies
repeat until everyone's brains haemorrage.
When I was on holiday in the States last year I tried out some Ibanez basses in pawn shops that were (mostly) $200 or less... they played pretty well (coulda done with a bit of tweaking here and there but thats to be expected). They looked kinda nice too. Only reason I didn't buy one is that I...
I would like one but I have another question... shipping to the UK? and of course there's the small matter of an international money order but I can find out about that part.
I guess I sort of suffer the reverse of the problem... I can play all the stuff I write but wish I could write better!
Having said that I am the bassist in our band and so tend to write bass lines against the main body of the songs we have (although I have input into all of the songs and some...
I play the bass... and... well.. erm.. the bass. I used to (several years ago) play the trombone and so could probably get back into that if I really tried. I think it is easier to make the transition from guitar to bass than vice versa. Only thing I can play on guitar is the intro to Under The...

but we are all crap lyricists... damn.
oh well.
Suzanne Vega has some pretty good stuff wouldn't you say? I kinda like most Soundgarden songs too... I think Cornell has his head screwed firmly on as a lyricist.
I have this tendency to buy anything that i like the feel of and am drawn to. I very rarely regret it. An instrument you are drawn to can help inspire you (at least in my experience). Dont ask me about the actual guitar though... i play bass.
I've been getting more use out of my Morley the last couple of weeks, my band has this pseudo-funkn song on the go and I have to say it doesn't suffer from too much clickiness or being too trebly... works best if you dont move it about too much though. I tend to keep it just past the "on" point...
I use a Morley Bass Wah. Pretty good performance with adjustable Wah-ness.... seems to be a little unresponsive on particularly low tones... this might be a universal thing though. It's got an optical sensor so you just need to step on it to switch it on, there are no extra switches or anything.
