    liar!

I like the idea you have with this track mate, I do remember hearing it a couple of weeks back but didn't comment then. I'm still learning this game so don't hold me to anything but, I'd compress the shit out of your lead vocal in this case cause I feel it really needs the lift as it's up n...

how to make it in music and not work

Great Walter...love it. I also enjoyed watching that video you have on that page, the Harmonica winning video. It's great the way you play and sing it all at the same time and yet, get such a great sound and production. Your music is such a real 'pick me up'...thanks for sharing... Mart.

I have a bigger challenge for home recordists!

Cybergord When you record your vocals mate...do you record them straight into a recorder and save as wav etc, or do you record them and then export them from a DAW or somat? The reason I ask is cause you may remember we had problems with the tempo with the 'Soul motion' remixing thread. You said...

It is great Nakatira, absolutely top job. I wanna listen to more of this. Good luck with it mate. Mart.

I have a bigger challenge for home recordists!

Yea mate...I know what you mean about the drums though I will just add that, remember these are unmixed and untreated. They are very digital sounding atm but with a bit of EQ, tube and a touch of distortion, they will sound much better. Would be good to get a real drummer involved though but if...

I have a bigger challenge for home recordists!

Right... So I've updated my links. I've worked on the slow down at the end of the song which means that I've had to update all tracks...so refresh your links. I've mainly tidied the piano abit and now added a drum track. Remember it's still all unmixed though. I might try to mix the song a bit...

    The Drive

Thanks guys. Yea, I've been told by a few people that my music tends to take too long to build up...but I think that's just my style. I would like to post other tracks here soon and if you think that track takes a while, wait till you hear some of my others LOL. I've sat pondering before about...

I have a bigger challenge for home recordists!

This forum's been a little annoying the past few days in that, it doesn't always show me the new post and I had missed this. I've just downloaded it now. Haven't had much chance to mess with the song over the last few days but I did last night. Mainly tidying up the piano a bit and starting...

    v3.0 Just downloaded it today

It's only if your license is old eg. you have Reaper v1 or somat...for example, I bought my license in December which entitles me to v3.99. What has changed with the license however is, verification of the non comercial license. Lot's of people have wondered if they have to buy the commercial...

    v3.0 Just downloaded it today

Yea...I downloaded it but, I ain't installed yet. I'm in the middle of a project and I don't want to risk it messing things up...was the conversion ok for you...I mean, did you just install over the top of v2 without any conflicts ?

    The Drive

Hi guys. A bit about me. I'm pretty new to this place having signed up a couple of weeks ago after browsing the forum for several months. I've been composing music on and off since the 80's but only started taking it more seriously a couple of years ago when the wife bought me 'Reason'. With...

    Vocal effects

...but you don't say that you didn't download the bundle. :p Only messing about with ya dude. The thing is, the simple answer to your question is yes...you'll get a sound simular to 'attack attack' by using a vocoder but I think they do tend to use a combination of vocoder and pitch correction...

    Track Loudness

...and when you're stupid enough to allow your computer to install crappy 'quicktime' like I was the other day which then takes over your audio streaming and despite the name 'quick', takes an 'age to download before listening and then tells you that you must pay if you want to save the file you...

    MP3 kbps vs sound quality

Some excellent advice there. Talking of the MySpace player...I hear a lot of people running the quality down but I'm sure that I read somewhere that when the player was updated some 6-7 months ago, so was the bitrate....but I could be wrong.

I have a bigger challenge for home recordists!

Good mate...I'm pleased you like it. Just one thing though, if you do decide to re-record the vocals...spend the afternoon doing it...make it a session. Record a couple of versions, loop the backing for verse one and record it two or three times(all in one take) and the same for the rest of the...

    MP3 kbps vs sound quality

Well I usually try to go for 320kbps if I'm only uploding one track for someone to listen to...like a mix etc. But if I'm handeling multiple mp3's, 10mb is a bit big and so I normally always use 160kbps(5mb). I feel 160 is a good all round figure for quality and filesize. Mart.

I have a bigger challenge for home recordists!

Right, I've just uploaded what I have so far. It's all rough and unmixed, no EQ etc. The piano still needs some work but I thought I'd let you hear what I've done up to now. If anyone wants any of the tracks in .wav format...just PM me. Would be interesting to hear what anybody else has come...

Yea...I found 27 to be best. So we're about right I think considering the guitar was slightly out with itself.
