Using scripts created in CEP (2.0) in Audition (3.0)??

They probably don't work because too many things (about scripts, effects, and plugins) have changed over the years as the newer versions developed. Why can't you just make new scripts in AA 3.0 and move on? Just curious...what type of work are you doing that you need to rely on scripts so badly?

Help with Error message in AA 1.0

My guess is that somewhere along the line, you've moved a file or files. Has something changed on your hard drive since the original session was saved?

    Behringer Truth B3030a vs B3031a

The 31 can play louder than the 30 and a bigger box will always produce more bass. If you have a larger room or have a need for more than one person to listen to playback, consider the larger ones. I have the old model with the conventional tweeters and I think the low end sounds sloppy. (I...

Compensating for "Weak" or "Shaky" vocals

What are you calling "shaky"? Unintentional vibrato when holding notes? Although the software I'm about to suggest didn't exist when this thread was started, the OP may have benefited from it. I use Melodyne to correct the "nervous sounding" vibrato on some voices. Check it out here...

Well THERE'S my problem: Playback issues for large multi-track projects

I think your problem is not Audition's fault. (...and btw, version 3.0 DOES support multiple cores.) I would be inclined to place the blame on the controllers for the drives, not within the drive themselves. Let me explain. USB ports do not have a dedicated I/O controller like your other...

Removing a Kick Drum from an Acapella

If this is a real record label, why didn't they send you to a real studio to have the song recorded properly?

I wanna hear some live recordings

I did this last summer using an ADAT feed from an Si Compact 32 mixer. All of the video was done with a single camera.

    Floor tom rumble

Rather than attempting to mute the floor tom reso head, (which makes the drum sound dead,) I attempt to reduce the amount of energy reaching the floor tom. This is one of those very dense memory foam pillows. Just don't allow it to touch either drum head.

The coolest thing I think I did today..

No, no, I was not talking about polar pattern. I was making reference to a microphone's sensitivity at great distance. I was pointing out that condenser mics seem to pickup far-off noises better than dynamics. Thus, using a dynamic such as the RE20 would have helped with the "turning of the...

The coolest thing I think I did today..

As far as isolating the background noise, the RE20 was a good choice. However, as far as level control, the RE20 was probably the worst choice. It apparently solved one problem, but caused a new one. Dynamic mics have an extremely sensitive proximity zone of about 6" or less where volume drops...

EQ for more snare, less hats.

Greg is right. You can adjust your playing "weight" when recording. You can play with the hats closed more often. Furthermore, some hats are louder than others. I bought a used set of hi-hats that are smaller/darker/quieter and have a really sweet sounding "chick" when closed. They have...

    MXR 990 or MXR V67G ??

I believe a lot of budget microphones have an inherent bit of harshness in the high frequency region, around 6,000 or 8,000 Hz. To make matters worse, compression tends to exaggerate that harshness which makes de-essing treatment necessary, thus resulting in an unnatural sounding track. In...

    Head suggestions for vintage vistalites?

I'm not sure why, but the trend in the 70's was to remove the bottom heads from toms. The bottom head serves to keep the energy inside the drum longer which causes the shell to resonate. That shell vibration is a very large and important part of the sound character of the drum...especially when...

    Behringer X32 in Studio

Well, what we are politely trying to say is...at first glance, we would recommend against it. If the mixer has the ability to keep all channels separated through the firewire or USB connection to the computer, then it may be productive as a recording interface. However, if it combines all...

    Condenser mic recommendations for flute

You didn't mention any price range, but judging from your first choice, I am guessing you seek a mid-range price that performs well. Your best value would probably be to buy a modified mic from one of the high end mod engineers. There are a few small companies that routinely take average stock...

    Behringer X32 in Studio

I don't know anything about the X32, but if I needed to get more serious about inputs, I would upgrade my interface and get better mic pres. Mixers mix. I don't see much use for them on the input end of things.

Attenuating feedback squeal on cassette to CD transfer?

I made a video a few years ago showing how I removed feedback from a recorded track using daw software. I know we are in the analog forum here, but this suggestion is an alternative to using an analog EQ while dupping it. The DAW has an extremely tight notch filter built in and an easy way to...

Car makers... Just stop it with the bass!

How well the stereo sounds is the last thing the engineers worry about when designing a small budget car. The speakers are just crammed in anywhere as an after-thought. All you can do is to set it so that the commercial music sounds acceptable and then keep it that way when checking your mixes...
