RCAS?
If you're using RCA cables from the 4-track to the stereo, try switching it on of the sides, see if it makes a difference. That way you can rule out a short in the cord...hopefully. Most of the time when I have one channel that's faulty, it's somewhere in a cable/connection...check...
check out www.speakerhole.com
I ordered a pair of speakers from them, and they're REALLY nice...
As for an amp and mixer, welll....if you're doing alot of recording at home, i'd get an unpowed mixer and then a separate power amp. That way, you can use both the amp and mixer for recording...
computer computer computer
Yeah...i'd have to agree with norm...the computer's the best bet i'd think. For $1000 you could get a soundcard with 8 ins/outs or more, plus, you'd have the editing ability of the computer, plus the ability to add more tracks as needed. Also, it'd be alot easier to...
So...that's good, right?
;)
So, what you're sayyyying here, is that it'd be a good idea to put a Duron on the Asus mobo i'm gonna buy for my Digi001 system...
If it saves money, sign me up! That means more cash toward other stuff....
Oh no! I'm a tech whore!

Violent Femmes...Ol' Mother Reagan. Something like 28 seconds or so....but it totally rocks...suppose that defeats the minimum time theory...:D

Anyone know anything about how the Duron chip performs, say, in comparison to the Thunderbird? I'm getting a Digi001 system, and am thiking about using an Asus A7V133 Mobo with a Duron chip, but i've not heard much about how well this chip is doing in DAWs. Anyone have any ideas anyhow...
Hey ya'll, anyone know anything about this board:
A7S-VM, 200Mhz FSB, Ultra DMA/100, 2 DIMM (max1GB), Built-in AGP4X graphic, LAN, Sound, 4PCI, USB
It has a 900 MHz Athlon TBird on it....
Any good in conjunction with the Digi001?
Thanks!
Yeah, the motherboard I was looking at(by Amptron(any good?)) can take up to 1.5 Gb of memory, in the form of 3 DIMM sticks. As far as the CD-RW, I already have an external one, so at first I was just going to use it, in order to save a bit of money at first.
Also, the Digi001 and Protools LE...
Nah, i've not bought anything yet, still comparing, etc...but the Digi001, which i'm using as a sound card, isn't supported by AMD Chips, so I figured that the PIII would be the best bet.

Does anyone knw about Amptron Motherboards? I was going to use one with an Intel chip(1 GHz) for a new system...any thoughts? Thanks ya'll...

Actually, it's two 512 chips. Here's what pricewatch said:
512MB 168 Pins 64X4 PC133 (can be used as PC100) SDRAM NeutronUSA# 430082
2 of those'ens.

Hey guys,
I'm looking into getting the Digi001 sound card, and am building a computer to supplement it. I'm on a limited budget, so i'm building it pretty bare bones, but here's what i'm thinking:
PIII 1 GHz Proc.
1 Gb 168 pin DIMM RAM
30.7 Gb Hard Drive(dedicated to OS, Protools, and...
Hey ya'll,
I just got a pair of PA speakers, and i had a question. They're rated at 120 Watts RMS, 240 Watts Peak. So, my question is, which one?! How loud can I expect them to be? What's the difference in RMS and Peak...thanks...

Hey,
It has insert points, but I thought those were pre-fader/pre-eq. Am I wrong? If I wanted say, 4 separate tracks to come out of the mixer, post-EQ, would the insert points work for that?
Thanks.

Hey there,
I've got a really simple mixer question, that SHOULD be obvious to me, but isn't. So, here goes. I recently bought a Behringer MX2004A mixer, with 20 channels. I used to simply go thru the mixer, down to two tracks stereo on a mulittrack deck. Now, if I want to record, say...
Just out of curiosity, what string gauges do ya'll use most often? I used to play on 11s, but recently stepped up to 12s. I play mostly rock/blues stuff, and use jazz strings. HOw about everyone else? What are your opinions on different gauges(i.e. what's better for what, etc...) Just...
Hey ya'll,
Ok, so i'm just getting my feet wet on this whole computer recording deal. I'm recording to a computer with N-Track, using whatever soundcard they were so nice to put in the coputer for me. Anyhoo, I was recording this morning and noticed that everytime I added a new track, I...
Hey,
Takamine guitars rule. 'Nuff said there. I've got one and wouldn't trade it for any other kind. They've got the most amazing tone. Can't go wrong with 'em...good luck...
