People that can't get into fast and exciting guitar playing are like people who only watch boring Lifetime Channel dramas and refuse to watch The Terminator. I like to watch a little bit of everything.

But can you at least admit that there are plenty of guys who can shred, but also have terrific feel and all of the other things that make for a great musician? The two things are not mutually exclusive.

Most of the time it's just because they can't do it. :D However, there are a lot of players who only want to play fast and they do indeed have terrible feel, terrible rhythm, terrible phrasing, no vibrato, no intonation, etc....and they'll show off their "chops" as if they're fehking...

I got it set up and played through all the classic VH that I know tonight. It was way more fun than usual, this thing jams pretty good. I stuck a standard set of 9's on there and I have the Floyd clamped down solid. For some reason, this thing feels twice as spongey as my regular guitar which...

Getting there. Just need to get the right screws for the quarter and do a bit more relicing.

Yes, I've mixed up a very dilluted, dark, alcohol stain, and I'm going to try to replicate the dirty look of the original by keeping it just a bit blotchy and uneven.

I did a little of the relicing tonight. Still gonna do a little more, but I don't want to overdo it. I'm actually trying to go by some older pictures of the guitar rather than current stuff.

I didn't build the neck or the body. It's just an alder strat body that I modified, and the neck is a Musikraft that I bought for a past project that was disassembled some time ago.

Soon I will be able to fulfill the Van Halen fantasies I've had since 1984. Oh, and I saved myself about $24.5k by not buying the Fender version. :p I've got a lot of work to do, as I just sprayed the red tonight, but I couldn't resist a little mock up with the parts I have on hand.

Thanks. The control cavity cover is made from the same board, but it wasn't cut out of the body. The trem cavity cover is made from a neck offcut, it's not grain matching either, but it's close enough for me. :)

Amazingly enough, I have one exactly like that in stock! I'll send it right over.

You want pedals on the guitar? Seems that would be awkward to reach unless you placed the guitar on the ground to engage the effects. :confused: :D I don't make any sort of effects or other electronic devices, so you would be limited to what was readily available. If you have something...
