Yes, you definitely won't have to register to listen... and I like the idea of not having to register to write feedback for a song... but giving the profile author the option to delete posts if someone is spamming or abusing. We'll have to see how that goes though. If it starts to get abused...

Will using the sonitus gate wear on my processing considerably? I mean should I be careful to use it... or is it okay to throw it on 6-7 tracks with different settings?

That's good news for future songs starting off... but what about when you've already got 5-6 songs layed down but not drums. Do it the old fashioned way of just setting each track? Or is there a way to copy stuff?
