    FD-8 Footswitch

Does anyone know if I can use a plain old footswitch, say from my amp to use as a punch in/punch out switch for my FD-8? It takes a 1/4 inch mono plug. I know about the auto punch features of my unit. I just thought this would easier in some situations.

    Wolfgang anyone?

Hey guys, I'm going to replace my Mexican Strat with a better built, better quality guitar. Dont get me wrong I like it alot but I still miss the quailty of a good old American made axe. So I'm at the music store looking around and this sunburst Wolfgang by Peavey jumps out at me. This is a...

    Does size(length) really matter?

Sure wish I was Ken Webber and didnt have to worry about what all this stuff costs! Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just keep moving the VCR back and forth till I can afford the CD-R burner. This of course only works if my kid isnt watching Barney.

    FD8 digital vs analog?!

I too have been very happy with my FD-8. I use a Boss VF-1 with has amp simulators like the POD and it sounds great. Definetly go for the digital! Just editing and bouncing capabilities are worth it. Once you get it figured out you have alot of options to use to make some great recordings

    Does size(length) really matter?

I have decided to mix down to Hi Fi VCR after much thought and reading about it back on the home page. Also a friend of mine who cut a country album a few years ago told me that they actually mixed down to VCR in the studio he was in. Mostly because of cost issue from 2 inch tape. Anyway. I...

    a q about eq?

Dobro is right, I have been learning the more effects i try to use the more muddy mix i get in the end. Its nice to have all the gadgets to play with ,but it seems that i have been using less and less. I have been recording with the effects on because i only have one processor. You might have to...

    Manual For FD-4i Fostex

Bob No, never did that one, but we used to end our shows by singing "Happy Trails" Van Halen style. That was alot of fun, something different. But we once played at a bowling alley in Stevens Point and we were the first rock band to ever play there. I wish they would have told us this before...

    Manual For FD-4i Fostex

I think he ment "Jimmy". I really dont remeber the name of the bar but it was outside of town on a county highway, maybe the north/east side. Pretty big place. "buckhorn?" maybe. Anyway all I remember was that our new lead singer lost his voice during the last set and i had to sing the rest of...

    Manual For FD-4i Fostex

Hey BBB, I actually live in Athens, which is about 25 straight west of Wausau. I did play in a bar in Birnamwood once back in like 1989, cant remember the name. This is the first unit i have had. My band broke up in 1990 and since then i have been out of the music thing till i bought a guitar...

    Manual For FD-4i Fostex

Hey man, Since you are new and are a fellow cheesehead i would be willing to send you some copied pages of my FD-8 Quick Start Manual. I'm assuming that most of the stuff should be the same. Its not the full manual but it will get you going till you get one. I could ever fax them to you if you...

    Jitteringjim's latest acoustic assault

Hey Jim if you Email my your address I will mix you a tape of the best of John Hiatt and mail it to you. He has got to be one of the best singer songwriters in recent years. I'm a old 80's rocker but I really enjoy his stuff. Do you remember that song he had. "It breaks my heart to see those...

    High Quality Cassette Deck?

I have been mixing down from my FD-8 to cassete with my old SCOTT tape deck. I want to get my tape deck back with my stereo and have a seperate one for in the studio room. Then I could listen to a mix on the stereo itstead of running out to the car. My question is: I have been searching e-bay...

Well, I dont really get into your style but the recording quality is pretty good. I just kept picturing Davey Jones and Marsha Brady in my head when I heard it.

    Jitteringjim's latest acoustic assault

Kudos, on the whole song! Do you ever listen to John Hiatt? Kind of reminds my of him. Not the voice but the style of music. I think you should keep the the "as is". Less is more type of thing.

A storage question for FD-4 owners

I have done very little vocal recording as of yet, but when I did I didnt have a problem with the inputs. The slider doubles as a trim and volume control. If you have it in input mode the slider is your gain, in track mode its your volume. Just make sure the impedence control on the track in set...
