I don't suppose I really love OR hate my own voice. It just... is. I have gotten used to hearing my recorded voice played back, and that's a good thing.

I see 424s all the time on ebay and would like to buy one one of these days, or perhaps even a 488. The discs for my 564 cost a hell of a lot more than tape, so I might just back a disc up onto a cassette four-track and re-use the disc.

Damn right they're expensive. I've been looking at those on ebay. I was thinking of buying one just to see if it magically worked. But if what you're telling me is true then I'll have to buy them anyway, and not just one. Until then, at least I can use my 564 as a mixer.
