    Yamaha MD8 thread

Hey! I just thought of something. I was going through some of the posts for the MD8 thread and I noticed a couple questions and some issues that people were having. Some of these are already addressed on the MD8 help page, (http://f16.parsimony.net/forum26295/index.htm). This site has been...

    Yamaha MD8 thread

Sorry. HAven't been reading much lately. The way to sync them together is to split the footswitch signal. Use a Y-adapter and a couple extensions to hook one switch up to both (or I suppose more, never tried that) machines. Then set both machines to record. When you step on the switch, it...

    Mini disk to cd

Have you tried using data discs from a multitack mindisc recorder (MD8, MD4, etc) in the unit? Wondering if it would read the data discs and allow you to upload the info and if it would be useable.

Repost - haha I had no idea there was an MD board here

Does it need to be battery operated? If not, there are several small ones available at www.musiciansfriend.com for under $100. I think you may need to get some adapters to make them work with your MD. Search for mic preamp.

    Yamaha MD8 thread

    Minidisc for recording

Actually, the new Hi-MDs ($200-$400 US) can use USB to drag and drop like a jump drive, so it is not the wrong choice. As far as the mic vs. line, a line level input is attenuated at a flat -10db and a mic level usually has an adjustment called gain or trim that allows you ta adjust the...

    Hi-MD and Data discs?

Does anyone know if the newer Sony Hi-MD players will read the MD Data discs used in the Yamaha MD8? Like many, I am searching for an easy, time efficient way to upload the multi-tracks to my PC.

Question: Using Minidisc as Data Drive.

I was just on the Sony page. They have a media reader that connects though USB directly to their new hi-md recorders. It says you could upload pics and docs so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to upload your music data. Cheick it out at...
