    Monitors: KRK or Events...

I have the old passive KRK Rokits. I took them into the GC and compared them to the KRK V8, V6, ST8, ST6 and then the various Events and the Yamahas. To my ears the KRK V6 gave the most clear and neutral sound in this particular listening environment. The stereo imaging of the Event PS monitors...

Trk 2 not in sync with other tracks

Did you run any type of software plug on the input, such as a compressor while tracking? That would delay the track by a few samples.

    Public Mix Contest #3!!!

Here is my submission. I used to play this type of stuff in the late 80s but never mixed it. So this was/is a learning experience. Thank you. http://music.dcwave.com/mixcontest3.mp3

    388 and preamps

If you are talking about a Tascam 388 reel-to-reel... the pre amps are fine. I had one. I miss it. Acoustic recordings (guitar and vox) via a 414 and sm57 were outstanding. I thought they were alittle on the warm side of neutral which gave a nice smooth sound from top to bottom. If you're not...

Any experience w/ Mackie CFX series?

I had one. I sold it. I liked it. Master EQ leave flat. Use inserts as direct outs to 1010. Pretty clean sounding.

    dbx 386 or 376?

Thanks for the heads up on the EM review. There are a number of good looking women at ACS. Too bad their managment sux. Maybe you can get GC or Mars to actually hook their dbx stuff up so I can come in and demo it. Or maybe I could drop by HMG and you could demo one for me. :D dcWAVE

A new song I finished using the Famous Studio Projects C1 mic, Take a listen

Interesting thread. I liked the song. I liked the vox. How does the C1 compare to a Mashall V67? Charger: I too had a friend who went on an LDS mission and came back and refused to pick up his Ricki and plug into his Vox AC30. It cool. He has a goal. In order to achieve that goal he wants to...

    dbx 386 or 376?

Hi Tom. I am looking at getting the 386. However, someone sent me a Electronic Musician reveiw that said there was a lack of clairity and punch. I haven't heard one yet and this reveiw was almost a year ago. Any opinions? What is it suitable for - amps, vox, acoustic instruments, ....? BTW, Are...

play this and sing that - how?

Most people can't. The key is to not think about it. And practice. 8th grade detention ( many, many, maaaanny moons ago ) was a great place to practice it.:D

play this and sing that - how?

I was in that same situation many moons ago. I played bass for a progressive/melodic speedmetal band and sang. ( Think Rush basslines meets Testament ) It was difficult at first. I practiced by twiddleing my thumbs. Really. Take your right hand and point your index finger to your left. Now start...
