Yeah this sux.. I finished mixing it last night. At first I didn't know if I liked the song, or the tracking but it grew on me and challenged me to get the drums working. Bummer... the song kinda has a Danzig feel to it.

Well... all good.. next mix contest.

So call them out. Why beat around the bush? Doing so does make it look like sour grapes. If the purpose of these mix contests is to learn, lets hear what you're talking about so everyone can learn.

Mastering isn't going to help if the mix is weak... a well polished turd is still just a turd. Limiting will just make a turd louder. Although, multiband limiting might make a turd seem pleasantly loud.

Well after three of these contests, at least I am pretty consistent at being in the middle... always in the middle for air and depth. I am wondering if i am not hearing my stereo image well due to flutter (not to mention being in a 8x8 room with no treatment) :rolleyes: :D

My entry: dcWAVE PMC-05 Entry I've been mixing in a temporary 8x8x8 room (UGH) so I have no idea what this really sounds like.

If you're only tracking one instrument /vocal at a time, why the Pro Mix at all? If you need to track 6 channels at once then use the two Omni Pres, the 3 and 4 line in, and the spdif in (from the 2 aux channels and the Spdif). Take channels 3-4 from the Omni back to the ProMix for monitoring...

Becareful about what you say about where you work and where you gig. You never know who is lurking on these forums and if they know you or not. ;)

I have Acid on an older PC. I have SX on the newer PC. I want to sync the two together. What is the best way? MTC? Do I use Acid to generate the timecode and have SX lock to it? Or do I need an some type of external device? Thanks dcWAVE
