why not have an A and B mix. Mix A is the tracks as are... B is the auto-tuned, re-sampled, enhanced tracks, three seperate judges, who havent listened to the "A" mix judge them.

I look at these mixing constest this way: Who ever is putting up the tracks is the producer. The tracks have been selected, now mix them. I do agree tho' that muting certain tracks is part of the mixing unless the producer says no.

How do you keep it stable without cross beams?

I charge by the song. I figure about 1.5 hours per minute of song, I adjust my rate so that I get about $20-$25 per hour this way - but my clients and I don't have to feel rushed - also, I cater specifically to broke singer-songwriters and wanna be rockstar teens and do not make a living doing...

I noticed it when I used some compression on the bass and brought the levels up. I used a De-Esser to tame it some. It's almost like a gate was used because I only hear it when a string is plucked.

Doug, can you do somthing about the buzz in the bass. I had headphones on when it started playing....ouch. :)
