M-Audio 1814 = 8 analog in, 8 adat in, 2 spdif in - all descrete, hence the "18". The 14 = 4 analog out, 8 adat out, 2 spdif all descrete. Most interfaces with adat offer an additonal 8 descrete i/o.

The M-Audio TDIF was an audio card designed to interface with tascam equipment. It has not been made or sold for quite some time.

Also.. a couple things... you're looking at two mixes. How do they sound? Whats your monitoring situation? Can you correctly hear a stereo spread?, depth?

Hehe.. thats what I was going to say. The only time I find that I use the Waves S1 is a small amount on a verb send, often to narrow the verb's spread during the verse then go wider on the chorus... never on a full mix.

You get what you pay for. Don't scrimp on room acoustics. I would rather get cheap monitors and mics and pay for the right stuff to treat my room.

On some stuff I have panned the strummed acoustic left to about 2:00. I buss the signal pre fader to the right to a 30ms delay which is panned right about 2:00. Both signals go to a group fader and get a small amount of room verb. Gives a nice even spacious sound and allows the vocals to sit...

I have been looking at several different basement studio builds. In some studios the owner has used OC13 and 703 stuffed inbetween floor/ceiling joists and then covered the ceiling with some type of fabric (dead ceiling, live floor). I've also seen some studios using traps on the backwalls...
