amidst the quiet of the boards...

Cool stuff. Its like U2, SoftCell and Brian Eno all got together and and and and and and..... .....Don't take the brown acid.

    Backup vocals question.

I cannot take credit... Not my work. Just a friend of mine who is very good ( IMO ) at putting backing vocals together. Not sure what he monitors through but I know he uses Cakewalk 9 to track and compose with. I also know that these are "pre-mastered" as he is releasing a full cd that will be...

Can Cool Edit handle a 24 bit sound card? Also Logic Plat question!

Yes CEP can handle 24bit. You would select 32bit float for recording. It can also do 192Khz as well. Its only draw back ( but what keeps it stable ) is lack of real time fx. A nice Sound card that will grow with you over time is the Delta 1010. If this card is outside your price range ( $599 @...

    Logic vs Cubase

Huh? I would head to the Nuendo forums. Plenty of pros using Nuendo. Such as: Engineer Greg Ladanyi applies NUENDO to Jackson Brownes upcoming 5.1 release Kodiak Interactive, a high-quality, cutting edge entertainment software development house that creates games for such systems as...

    Marshall V67 at Mars Music

I've had my V67 now for about a year. Bought it at Mars. Its black. No "m" or mogami insignia on it anywhere. Spec sheet is same as MXL2001 I bought a week before.

    DELTA 1010 OR LAYLA 24 ???

Emeric, The only problems I've run into with Win2K is all the damn beta drivers! LOL! Its only been out for year now you would think that someone would have a final release. Seriously, I've had shut down problems and Waves 3.0 causes lockups. So right now I have been using Win2k more for web...

    DELTA 1010 OR LAYLA 24 ???

I can appreciate what you are saying, however, I'm pretty confident that my machine is not the reason. I run: 1.2gh T-Bird 512mb ram 3 maxtor ide 20gb 72krpm Dual partition Win98se and Win2k Pro sp1 I don't experience any drop out and have stressed tested by system with 68 tracks in Nuendo with...

    DELTA 1010 OR LAYLA 24 ???

What I noticed the most with Vegas and audio only was when I mixed internally the sound of the stereo file was different from the multitrack. For simple voice over and music beds on training videos I don't care as much. But for audio only.... well....you know.

    DELTA 1010 OR LAYLA 24 ???

I too find that the audio quality in Vegas drops with more that about 16 tracks of audio. But only when they are all bussed out to a stereo pair. If I send 2-3 tracks out to each of the 1010's 8 outputs I don't notice a difference. I also do not like the special insert effects. I think they muck...

    DELTA 1010 OR LAYLA 24 ???

What I mean is that Somtimes an email attachment, web page, crackle from bad vrc/camcorder output, mp3s streaming from online, etc... may rear its ugly head. Rather that have these sounds go out to the Delta>Mackie>Monitors/Headphones and make my ears bleed, I send them out to the SBLive which...

    DELTA 1010 OR LAYLA 24 ???

I use the Delta 1010 with Nuendo and Vegas Video. Latency with softsynths - none noticable. Sound quality - superb. There are many post pro people using the Nuendo/Delta 1010 combo for surround mixing and out put because its clean and efficient with an internal patchbay/router. As far as...
