The reason dedicated hardware is still attractive is because you can turn on the power switch and get right to work on your music. There aren't any confusing/complicated software related problems in your way. In the box you can spend a great deal of time messing with updates, downloads, dongles...
So results are such...
Power supply has the new regulator board installed and it's working nicely. I spent some extra time testing the new regulator PCB. Even some destructive testing :D
I shorted it out. Ran it with too much voltage input. Hooked it up to very heavy loads. Even connected the...
This is good to know, about the sound. I really don't want any special color for this application. Nor will I need any bells and whistles.
Thanks Tex!!!
You're very welcome pohaku. I very nearly went for the 431 when I found one for sale locally. Then out of nowhere one of my cars decided to break down and there went the mic money :D
So when I could afford to buy another mic again I couldn't find any 431s anywhere but found a reasonable deal on...
This is a little late in coming but.... THANK YOU! The 441 is just blowing me away so far!
I greatly appreciate all the useful knowledge passed on to me by the posters of this thread. It helped me very much in making an informed decision and a purchase I'll never regret. :)
Now lets see about...
I was wondering about the quality of these units. I want to run my synthesizers through DIs for both recording and live situations so I'm looking for good sound.
Would be nice hear some experiences with this product.

I'm not entirely sure what is so bad about the MK-219. granted it isn't anything special but I find uses for mine which is stock. For the type of music I do it fits right in on some tracks.
Although my Sennheiser MD-441 U Kicks it's ass in EVERY situation...
Many forums like this are like a community in a weird sense. This one certainly is IMO. Before getting so upset about the response here try becoming part of the community, getting to know some people and obtaining some Rep.

I cringe at the memories of having to use MSDN
Dude go LAMP and live happily ever after. Then learn Python and Zope and laugh at the puny mortals as they write their silly login scripts and manage users manually with relational databases. Object Databses and component architecture =...
Ditch the 58s and get some AKG d790 or d890 mics.
I've compared the two and well I own the AKG. It's just got alot more of everything. Sound quality is great. Used it live and not a single feedback problem ever. Shure makes good stage mics but IMO they are getting long in the tooth compared to...
Help a brother out. This dude is mad cool. Surely somebody can use an extra processor to get things into shape. :D
I have done business with the Doc and he is fair and honest. no worries here.
For those interested I thought I would post the final result of my MicroLimiter experiment from earlier.

I recently called Toa tech support to get some information regarding my mixer. Just for the heck of it I decided to see if by chance they actually still had any replacements for the PC-2011 line output DOAs in the RX-7. Turns out they had 1 left in inventory. I thought wow that's cool lemme grab...
Wow there's a prehistoric beast from the tar pits.
So far I am quite impressed with the converters on my 12. I can't believe the bargain you have with this device. I would have expected to pay well over a grand for this kind of sound quality.
Plus the thing is built to withstand some serious...
