Motu drivers can be notoriously shitty with some windows machines and chipsets. They aren't much help either since MOTU only has real support for MAC users.

I've used a: Boss ODB-1 Big Mufff DOD Blues distortion somethin or other Marshall Jackhammer all to good effect in a live setup. My fav was the big muff but the ODB-1 was better for a harder dist. than the big muff.
