Cascade M20 modified with the Scott Dorsey mod as reviewed in the Recording magizane article. This modification does away with all of the cheap parts and replaces them with the highest quality components which gives a MUCH improved sound! I'm selling this one for less than a new unmodified M20...

What's so bad about the K2? It and the KSM 27 (my favorite here) reveals a texture in the voice that the others don't. Listen to the last two words - it shows up best here. The 4040 and NTK sound cheaper to me. I really like the KSM 27. I might have to git me one 'a dem!

For this vocal and these songs, the Hamberg(er ;)) sounds best to me. But to really be fair, you should record the same song with each mic and compare them that way.

Yep, that's the one. Do just like Philgood sez. You could try miniture stacked metal films in place of the .22uFs. I was able to fit 1uFs in mine with no problem.

Different board, but probably similar circuit. Actually from looking at the board, the 1006 looks just like the 603s circuit. If you take the top board off, there should be a cap on the back of it on the end closest to the capsule. That's the most important one to change. Can you post a pic of...

I once had pics of the 1006 circuit board (can't find them now) and it looked just like the 2003. Here's a picture of a modified 2003. Does it look like your 1006?
