I would agree ^^^^^ When testing the group buy ribbons, while they required more gain than the condensers, It certainly wasn't pushing the pre's anywhere near their limits, and really wasn't to much more than the condensers.

ribbon wierdness so... using a flashlight, and studying the ribbon inside the mic, I see the tension is different between my two ACM-3s. Since I don't have a way of tuning to a specific hz... i decide to plug them both in, play a bit, and see if I can tell a difference between them... then...

I had a thought... a question for the electronic gurus. See... I'm paranoid about turning on the power to one of these ribbons. :o Isn't there a little something we can wire into the Mic to Protect it from phantom power? I think I've seen a few ribbon mics advertised that they're "safe" from...

There's a number of options, several are looking into a couple, no-one has actually completed the task yet... I don't think there's a single "recommended" model/link as of yet.

I agree with the others. I don't have an issue with the ribbon sag. Sure we'd love it to be perfect out of the box, and having the problem corrected at the manufaturer would be nice in the future... but for the price point it's not a big deal, and I'll get to learn something else. I was...
