I can't really comment with regard to a comparison to a Strat, however, the LGX series (with the piezos and the Seymour Duncan HB's) allow you to dial in just about any combination of tone. While you may not get a true single coil sound, you may be pleasantly surprised with what you can achieve...

I've got a Godin LGX-SA, and concur with all the praise that has been given above. Sound, feel, finish, playability - all are excellent. One of my favorite guitars. mike

I've got a Godin LGX-SA and use it with a GR-50. The guitar itself is great, tracking is acceptable to good through the synth (much better than a GK-2 hex pickup IMHO). And the range of sounds the guitar provides itself (w/ magnetic Seymour Duncan and RMC transducer pickups) is fantastic. Now...

No, it's just a bad flash reflection ... the pickup is actually flat black ... The coolness of the bass is what attracted me initially, and when I picked it up, I found that it sat so comfortably - wasn't head heavy - I knew it was meant for me :cool: And the luthite body feels different -...

Ha, I was looking for the pic I put in this thread for something else, and lo and behold, somebody resurrected it. And yes, I am still around, and I still love the bass. I tracked a bit with it recently after not picking it up in a couple months, and it was pretty easy to get back the groove...
