    Roadready-ing a setup.

+1 on putting each in an individual road case. Loading shit into a van is like playing tetris. I don't see why you're worried so much about saving time when plugging in. The drummer has to set up his shit, and the sound guy has to mic everything. that takes much longer than plugging your amp...

    I love guitar center thread

the people working in guitar center are complete dipshits. the only time i buy from guitar center is when i go in there to buy $1,000 worth of guitar pedals which i use for 29 days while cutting a record and then return them on day 30. "what's wrong with... all of them?" "they don't make me...

    Pedaltrain PT-2...Soft or Hard Case?

I don't use that pedal board, I use a Furman pedal board. But I do clearly remember the day I was buying it. I could have sprung for a hard case for $50 more. But I decided to save my money. Now, after two years of gigs, the zippers on that soft case are all torn to shreds, and i have it all...

Suggestions, Please- Building My Own Little Amp Cab, With TWO Amp Chassis

I was turning this over in my head on a long drive to my parents' house last night, and I think I understand what you are trying to do, but the approach baffles me. So... my understanding, in effect, is that you want to get a clean sound and a dirty sound out of a rig, and that even at modest...

    Velcro Group Buy?

Man, we all need velcro. But personally I just go down to Home Dip and get like 20 feet of the industrial grade stuff for like eleven bucks. I'm sure there's, like, NASA grade shit out there, but I have enough trouble prying up a pedal off the board as it is. I know we're in a financial crisis...

Perfect. Thanks a million. If I can get him down to $150 I'll give it a try. Thanks for the quick response.

    Fender Deville

Agreed. I never use it. Just overdrive the clean channel.

    Fender Deville

Precisely right. From what I understand, though, this is an easy fix. You just essentially replace a fixed resistor with a variable resistor. If you google "Hot Rod Unofficial Owner's Guide" you will find an awesome site with mods, instructions, amp care tips, etc. It is totally awesome.

Which Three Out Of Four Fender Amps To Keep?

It struck me as obvious that you should ditch the HR Deluxe Re-Issue. Can't think of a more common amp. But, of course, IMHO. YMMV. ETC.

    Playing with a hangover.

Didn't see this till this thread floated back to the top. Aye, Red Quiet. Do you play in any bands around town? I'm always lookin to see good shows.

I dunno... I just said that because I don't think rock and roll should need a resume. But I will ask. I shudder to think how many misspellings I'll find.

    Fender Deville

The Hot Rod DeVille is not quite 3 channels, it's a clean channel and a dirty channel, with a 'more drive' setting. I never use it and can't remember if it's a mid scoop or a mid boost. I prefer the sound of the 2x12 deville. If you like the sound of the 4x10 version you might be better off...

Are you in a band/do you gig?

all press is good press, right? i've been hounding the local conglomerate rock DJ to say he hates us on the air. problem is, he says he likes us. i guess i'll have to hound him more.

Are you in a band/do you gig?

No matter what level you play at--virtuoso or shitty (like me)--if you're really in the music you'll only hear your mistakes. I say this because for me playing music is a constant struggle to match the sound of my guitar/band to the ideal sound I have in my head. It's only ever happened a...

    Manager Schmanager

Should have thought of that. I probably would have if my finger wasn't dripping blood all over the place. I imagine the response would have been: "Oh, actually I just ran out."

    Manager Schmanager

I think that's good advice. We've been playing for about two years, and in the last four months or so things have started to move. Lots more people coming to shows, etc. In the past I knew everyone in the audience, because they were the old faithfuls. In the past few shows I start looking around...

    Manager Schmanager

My thinking exactly. What questions should I ask him to give us an idea of his track record? A list of bands he's managed before? A list of clubs he has contacts with? Things like that? I'm tempted to ask him for a CV. Not that I want to be a dick, but I feel like anyone worth his salt would be...
