i can manually set the latency of my delta44. what is the latency good for? i don't see the point in setting the latency to more than 0ms. enlighten me.

i think i figured it out. go to 'device poperties' and select 3-byte Packed PCM. this enables 24bit recording if i'm not mistaken. can anyone confirm this?

yeah, why can't we choose 24bit? i have the M-Audio Omni Studio and i want to use 24bit. Cool Edit is my all time favourite multi track software and i'm not willing to use another software. soooo?

why don't you just plug a pair of headphones in the preamp's output and check if it's clean. if it's clean it's you soundcard or computer or what ever but not the mic or the preamp. if it's still fucked then take the mic to a friend and try it there. if you don't have any friends then take it...
