    level boost when mxing down?!

whenever i mix down a multitrack recording CEP boosts the levels and the mixdown has lots of clipping. i solved the problem by setting the peak levels of the individual track in the multitrack mode to about -10dB before i mix down. still, there must be a way to avoid this. is there?

Double track vox, yeah or neh??

i double track my vocals on some songs and on some i don't. i usually prefer a mono vocal track with a 25ms delay on the left or right output...just make sure to avoid cancelation.

    flatwound, roundwound? heavy, lights?

i've been playing the guitar for over a year now and i still don't know what these terms mean. i'm mostly confused by flatwound, roundwound strings. what the hell does all this mean? and most importantly, what effect do these things have on my sound? another quick question: is it true that...

Two WaveOut devices at the same time? possible???

Re: Re: Re: Re: Two WaveOut devices at the same time? possible??? sorry man, but i can't second that. headphone mixing is just WRONG in my opinion. especially when it comes to panning headphones tend to give you a completely different feel than speakers. the main thing that keeps me from...

Studio Projects B1 or C1 for acoustic guitars?

i guess the C4 is THE acoustic guitar mic. (out of all the SP ones). i don't have it though. but i keep reading that those are the ones that work best with acoustic guitars. as far as i know paired SDC in general are the #1 choice when it comes to acoustic guitar recording.

Two WaveOut devices at the same time? possible???

Re: Re: Two WaveOut devices at the same time? possible??? i know what you mean when you say that regular computer speakers give a wrong impression of the mix. but they give me a much better idea of what my mix sounds like on a two speaker environment. the headphones bypass the whole idea of...

for how long can you leave a B1 or any similar mic plugged in with phantom power ON?

i just got mine a few days ago and i'd like to know for how long you can leave those mics switched on with phantom power ON? is it okay to turn phantom power off when i'm not recording or would it be better to turn the mixer completely off?

sorry for flooding the board but here is another question...OMNI I/O related

i have an omni i/o box connected to a delta44. as most of you know the omni has a power on/off switch as well as a phantom power switch. i noticed that when i have phantom power on that the box heats up quite a bit. i'm sure that's normal but i'd like to know if it's okay to leave the omni box...

Two WaveOut devices at the same time? possible???

i was wondering if it was possible to tell CoolEdit to send the signal to TWO soundcards at the same time. i recently bought an Omni Studio and i'm tired of switching between my regular soundcard and my delta44. my speakers are connected to my regular soundcard and it will be like that for...

    what is latency good for?

okay, but how much latency is good and how much latency is too much? i can imagine that up to 7ms (max 10) are okay.....is that correct? also, christiaan, do you post on atease? your name sounds familiar.
