what is the better buy??? Active KRK rokit 5s Or a rack amp and a pair of alesis mkII?? I figured that if I get the amp then I can replace speakers more easily and cheaper. But I may get better quality in the KRKs.

tapping doesn't have to be EVH style eruption. I agree that tapping solos a la eruption are way overdone and abused and frankly not that useful other than for showing off. However, tapping is VERY good for an interesting dynamic when you want to bring the level of attack down on the guitar...

so basically the ONLY way to do this is to run a splitter into seperate amps hooked to seperate monitors. I was originally going to do bi-amped active monitors off of a behringer minimon audio matrix. So I guess that would probably still be my best best financially.

so if I have the amp running into this....it will power any speakers that I switch to?

I think I may have answered my own question. I found that they make a such thing as a rack-mount speaker selecter. BUT I am still unsure if the current will pass through it without problems.

oh I'm sorry, I meant to be able to A/B them. Not run them at the same time. And by matrix, I meant an audio matrix. which allows you to switch between speakers. I dont think that they will pass the current of the amp through to each set though. I didnt know if they made just a simple speaker...

well if they are collecting royalties for you, then they are effectively acting as a publishing company. I could be wrong here, but I believe that if they collect your money for you, then they keep a fee. Non-profit doesnt mean free. It just means they keep enough to pay for their overhead...
