    giving berry some props.

yeah, but not all of us can afford a nice seperate room just for reverb. second, no matter what you buy, there is going to be something more expensive and better quality. I guess everyone on this board just one day had an epiphany that they were going to be the next quincy jones, and ran right...

    giving berry some props.

everybody always pulls out the DMB card. The fact of the matter is that their is an immense amount of talent in that band, REGARDLESS of whether you like them or their music. And if you try to argue that fact you will look like a complete idiot. Although I am sure you are good at what you do...

    how to build a rack?

yeah, I am probably just going to do a simple box. Brad nail it together, add a couple screws just for stability and a cross section bracing just below the lowest space on the rails. I will probably take a small piece of gear ( the v-amp is pretty tiny ) and attach the rails to the side of it...

I was unaware that aural exciters and compressors produced effects such as reverb, distortion, delay, oh wait, thats cause they DONT. Besides, I think you will hear FAR more negatives about that BBE sonic maximizer than you will about the V-amp:) but I appreciate a friendly spat. ;)

chessrock....what would you say is a better "doorstop" in that price range?

    rack screws??

all VERY useful info. I just called GC and they have a pair of 6-space for 12.99. Two pairs of those should do me. I will look into screws and washer and try to make a good decision.

    giving berry some props.

I just got my V-amp in the mail today. ($91.00 off of ebay ) , and I have gotta say. I was PLEASANTLY surprised. I havent tinkered with the settings or anything. Just fulled around with whatever presets it had stored in it to make sure it was functioning. Great sounds. Anyone who hates behringer...

    how to build a rack?

thanks guys. yeah it would be helpful if i used a depth that is a pretty common size of wood so that that saves me a few cuts.

    how to build a rack?

nah...probably just squared. Angled towards my seating position. Then I will have a trapazoid shaped board attached between them that will hold my monitor. That way everything is right at my fingertips. I was going to angle them through the desk top, but I am currently in the process of moving...

    how to build a rack?

I am going to build two racks for each side of my desk. I know how to build them, my only question is this. What is the standard DEPTH? I dont want them to be any deeper than I need to hide equipment, but at the same time I want it to be versatile enough to accomadate the deepest of rack gear...

    MXL or Behringer Condenser???

well I recently asked the same question in a post, not realizing this was already asked about these two mics. After reading this thread, I bought an AT3035 off of Ebay. I got it for $98. Cant wait til it gets here.

    Joe Meek JM27 small condenser

anyone familiar with this mic? I notice it has no pad or roll-off. Is it worth buying? I am in need of an instrument condenser for acoustic guitar. I have a pad on my FW410 so I can live without that and use a plug in roll off if I need it that much.

Please Review, I would like to use on my demo

the song is definately there. The chorus is good and very marketable in todays markets. The harmonies are also good additions to the chorus. The main thing in this song that needs work, is the mixing. If you were going to really try to plug this song, it would be wise to remix it and possibly...

    My New Songs

I agree that it was a little on the slow and boring side. the vocals really need work. I know you are going for that system of a down style, but they just dont really break out of that comfortable range at all. you have the sort of shakey vocal technique down, but just have to work on expanding...

    $3500 mix vs. my mix.

his mix was good in terms of the vox panning. I think it sits better in his mix. However, the kick drum turns to mush on his mix. While the rhythm section is louder and pronounced, they lose a lot of clarity in the bottom end IMO. I didnt care for the intro to mix B though. It is a cool effect...
