i second the MPD16. very nice little controller. i was experiencing some latency issues with it when using my regular sound card (which kill the usefullness of it), but after i started using my firepod they vanished.

AKG K240 Studio (55ohm version). They sound fantastic and feel completely weightless. I've seen them for $99.

Hey everybody, I think this unit is just coming out. It's a hardware plugin. Shows up as a VST via USB. Can also be used in a live setting. Sounds awesome to me. Any opinions? Cheers!

just making sure... make sure you have your mix knob set all the way left if you'd like to monitor the signal coming into the firepod. turning it all the way right gives you the output from your recording program.
