How do you get published for radio play?

No snickering here, but I really feel I have a song good enough for radio play. Maybe the only "hit" I've even made. How does one get music (or just one song) published so it can get radio play (assuming a station would WANT to play it??? My song...

    Internet Band?

My buddy does that. He does guitar and gets other guys to do the rest. Heres one of the songs http://www.reverbnation.com/main/bes_chart?artist_id=895335&genre=Rock&genre_geo=Local&utm_campaign=weekly_email&utm_content=local_charts&utm_medium=email&utm_source=thunderharp#/r4m

    Power amp tubes

You got some good advice here, but it seems like you just want to mess with the tubes anyhow. Don't do it! First you'll spend money on tubes, the re-biasing, then re-biasing again when you put the old tubes back (and you will:D) A POS guitar and an MG cab IS the problem. Better speakers will...

    vocals terminology...

I'm close, but still can't get the vocal sound that you might hear on modern radio hits. I read about a 'term", a name for the sound. Does anyone know what it is? Characteristics: *Clear, yet distorted *breaths are as loud as sung notes *lots of "air" or high frequency sibilance *sounds thin...

Starving Artists Gettin Robbed All Day

Gigging is like golfing. If you suck, you must pay to play. If you're great, they pay you. Greg is right if the band is trying to make it. But if your just out to share some music and have a good time.....:drunk:

Starving Artists Gettin Robbed All Day

You have to give some credit here. No one is forcing bands to do it. If you don't wanna pay, simply don't pay. I am amazed at just how many established bands are in my crappy neck of the woods. Hundreds. Most will never play a paying gig. Some a free gig. Seems like if they want to play-they...

    Tube amp brands

I have had a good time reading all of the tone freaks (I'm one too) ranting about tone, tubes and the such. I have done a lot of tube and speaker swapping in my day and those 2 things really DO make a difference in tone. But having been a recording and performing artist for many years, I should...

Looking for a new tube amplifier. Any suggestions?

Best is a relative term Most tube amps have their own sound. Mesa's are no exception. I don't care for the "flangy" distortion they give out. I have a Peavey 5150. Those things are incredible. Of course some may disagree. They have their own tone. Fenders don't typically fare well in the metal...

best portable/battery amp and classical guitar w/pickup

The Roland street cube might be your best bet if you MUST be battery powered. But If you want to have a clear crisp sound, go with a Crate.(AC powered) Normally Crates are junk, but their acoustic amps sound fabulous. The others won't offer a tweeter which will let your guitar tones shine...

    Which Budget Preamp?

I had the Art Tube MP and it was not good AT ALL. I might have assumed that the ART Tubepac (pre and comp) was the same ciruitry, but, alas, it sounds great and works for me. Clean, quiet and does the job well.

    Eq pedals?

Forget the EQ pedal. It will only add to your woes. What you'll find about tone and tube amps is that EVERYTHING changes with added volume. Once you raise or lower the volume, the tweakin' begins to get back the "tone" you hear in your head. My advice is this... get yourself a lower wattage amp...

Line out Vs. Miking the amp

Line out destroys great tone. I don't care what they say...that goes for Line 6 as well.:(

    Amps?

So long as you use good speakers ( not a laptop) you can usually find YouTube videos with guys using most amps out there. It is a great way to hear the tone for yourself. Harmony central reviews can be helpful, but often there are kids offering a "professional" opinion. Like when someone said...

    Really thin guitar sounds.

Another method is to stay back 2-3 feet like you normally do, get your desired tone, the mic the amp from the same distance using a large diaphragm condenser. It can work, though normally not done that way. I used to be a gain freak. Now I prefer a nice bitey crunch. I am happy with my gain...

    Help with producer contract

In the music biz the saying goes " it's not a question of IF you will get screwed, just HOW MUCH" I'll bet you'll get 3% of the cost of the one CD copy they finally get.

Is it the SansAmp or my bass?

Are you saying you can't get the sound you want "live" or "recorded" ??? I'm assuming you are listening to recorded tracks and not "hearing it", right?
