Well folks, I've literally listened to "In the flesh?" (make sure to have the question mark :p ), from The Wall hundreds of times, And every time I hear it, I start to wonder how they achieved this mighty guitar sound. It sound to me as a single-tracked sound, although it seems as if it was...

    mono to stereo?

These techniques with delay and panning are mixing techniques, not tracking techniques. Still though, My mixing and arrangement view is to be as minimalistic as you can, it may come from the time when I started recording (sort of 5 years ago, yes, I'm still an amateur), where I had one mic, and...

    mono to stereo?

Why are you afraid of mono? Firstly, you do have panning, so it wont be mono. Secondly, It's a great opportunity for you to learn and explore mic techniques, and make better decisions about where you sholud place your mic. Listen to Sgt. Pepper, It has 4 tracks(well, we know that because the...

    recording solos

I meant more out of the bass guitar itself, because it's supposed to be the body of the song, and a song can fail only because of a bad bass. I can guess that the tube preamp will add some kind of warmth, because you need a bit of warmth in your guitars.

    recording solos

I'm perfectly not a pro, But still, I believe that it'll sound better if you'd work on the bass a lot, because the bass is foundation of the mix, And it just doesn't seem to be there. Also, only in the solo, you've pulled the doubled rhythm guitar into the middle, it's interfering with the...

    Recording Bass Guitar

I'm not talking about a rule that cannot be broken, It's just a way to fatten the sound a lot, At my personel taste, I don't like a trebly bass, beacuse it's a pain in the ass for me ears :P , So after experiments I found out that it just doesn't do too much to the bass sound if it's a song that...
