    Best RODE for vocals

NT-1000 Future Add-On.. Tukkis, I have a pair of NT-1000s. They are great for many situations. Even as overheads for drums. But, I ended up buying a Presonus *BlueTube* to mellow out the vocals. These are great microphones, in my book. Very versatile...

    noise reduction every time?

Tex (& others), I used to think the same thing. I used to think Dolby-B was good enough. Then, Dolbly-C. Then, Cassettes no longer sounded good enough for the car, anymore. When I didn't know how to use the tools properly, they did more damage than good. Now, it's another useful tool...

VU Meters no longer working with new Audiophile sound card

Going Beyond Clip... I have had times where I went above *clip* and was able to recover. I don't like to do it, but sometimes get there. Here is what I found (with CEP v1.2a)... I record in 24.8-bit or 32-bit, and the gain is up enough to ride close to the *zero* line. The...

VU Meters no longer working with new Audiophile sound card

Is This The -10dBu/+4dBV Issue? Going between "balanced" & "unbalanced" inputs/outputs, you are going to see an 11.8dB difference. I had this issue when I ran some old Behringer mixers with "unbalanced" 2-pin cabling to a standard amplifier. The preamp automatically would be 11.8dB lower...
