Bands playing Not so Live ....OT

i seem to recall seeing greenday (both live & on dvd) and coming to the conclusion that they must have a 'hidden' guitarist backstage or recorded...... based on the fact that solo's would play without him actually playing them and he'd clap his hands but the power chords would keep on coming...

    Bass-Slide RUMBLE!!!

haha i will second the notion that 'no slide' is no excuse. John butler played an entire gig using the neck of a corona bottle as a slide :) My excuse? No Bass ;)

The tunes i'd love feedback on (whether it be mixing, arrangement or anything that comes to mind) is 'The Wednesday Song' and 'Spinning Gold' which are on my myspace...

    playback trouble

G'day, I first posted my problem here https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?p=2442627#post2442627 in the soundcard forum but I suspect Audition 2.0 may be party to blame for the play back probs I'm having..... Someone in the other thread suggested I may have messed around with the buffer...

    soundcard troubles

I've tried playing around with the settings in the 'Audio hardware setup', the buffer size of the card looks like its set to 2048 samples..... Not sure what the 'full duplex/ Start input first' means or if its relevent.... Any idea how to ajust the buffer settings? I've just chosen the old card...

    soundcard troubles

ok I picked up a SB audigy card cheap a while back, then learned afterwards that the '24' bit recording is in actual fact 16 bit and a few other things that would have put me off buying it but anyways didn't cost me alot of money.... To get to the point, after installing it last night and...

    VCR recording

Yes i was looking at a tight-arse way to get a warmer analogue sorta sound before i realised how relatively cheap i could get a tape machine for......Would any of these be any good? I guess I would be recording mixer - tape machine - soundcard line in then DAW? Or would I be better off with a...

    VCR recording

Ok dumb question, is it a sure bet that recording onto a VCR tape (eg. mic - mixer - vcr - then import to DAW) would produce awful results? I'd try it but it'd mean i'd need to buy a few leads etc so i'd rather just have someone tell me i'm an idiot before I bother trying it out...... cheers
