If your guitar doesn't sound or feel the way you want it to, tweak it.....it's not rocket science...... Guitars are not these delicate one of a kind works of art that some would have you think....they're wood and strings.....duh..... How many guitars have flown all over the world in freezing...

Page.......I repeat...Page....... Athough it was a million years ago when I saw Zep live, I was moved.......still am...... Page was indeed sometimes sloppy, as was Hendrix...... They both are still my favorite guitar players...... Beck equals " ego tech robot" (my opinion only.....)...

c7sus is right....the toothpick thingy works.....at least try it, it would beat hell out of trying to dig JBweld out if you screw it up...not to mention be careful with anything that might totally melt the finish on your guitar.......gibs

Grats too !....seems like through the years the usual guitar talk about what you gotta have is only about two guitars, namely Strats and Les Pauls.....the SG is so totally different in feel than either one, I think it oughta be added to everybody's want list..... The sound of the thing, maybe...

I have a worn special, and I had to tighten the nuts right under where the strings are wound....they were loose as crap.......and when I changed those useless "brite wires"( or whatever those horrible strings are) to 10's, mine now sounds like a glossy expensive model........SG's are great...

There are indeed lots of differences....so really it depends if you are cool with that.....there are less differences with the Jimmy Vaughan (made in Mexico), however..... I have a Jimmy Vaughan Strat (made in Mexico) that is wonderful.......I also have an AM strat ('84)......the pick ups on...

The pearl guards rule.....a quick fix....but a burst w/pearl would be wonderful...also expensive if you get a burst done.... hmmmmm...grey strat with pearl....it would be like an oyster.....and surely one of a kind....but be careful, Fender might wanna add it to their never ending list of...

So what you want is something that looks like the real thing, although it isn't, plus you want an imaginary neck thru design that didn't happen with the real thing, which would also make it not the real thing...... And, whatever it is you want, you don't want it to be a Gibson product, even...
